Unless I heard Lane incorrectly the other day, it seems he implied that the SEC requires submission by midnight night before the game and that this is the permanent roster for the entire season.

Is it for the season or can you resubmit different rosters every single week?

I keep seeing people act like players won’t be on the roster at midnight, but seem to think that they’ll end up on there later. Once again, I feel like Lane implied it’s set for the year????

So basically these players will be on the roster then. Including CB Cotton if we plan to add him.

Jesus Christ people, yes it can. As long as a roster spot is open and the student was already enrolled

I saw a post early that corrected that, saying as long as they’re enrolled as a student they can be added to the roster at any point this season.

I mean I don’t disagree with you, but it seems Kiffin implied it was set for the year.

I'll find the link, unless something has changed in the last few hours, there's a bylaw that just says anyone added has to be enrolled already

If you submit less than 105 you can add players to the roster after

If a program does not submit the maximum 105 players prior to the first competition, it may still add student-athletes up to that limit, per NCAA bylaws reviewed by USA TODAY Sports.

yahoo sports re rosters

It doesn't clarify it here but the addendum is that they have to already be enrolled to be considered student athlete. You can't add people that aren't enrolled

ETA
Grad students and certain athletes do not count towards the 105, so even though LSU website roster May show more than that number right now even without the new guys, our actual number is lower than 105 currently

As long as players are enrolled at the university before 1st roster submission then they can be added, so long as a spot is available and another player does not have to be removed.

What I heard him say is that the roster you submit for game 1 is the roster you have to play with for game 1. But if you have open slots on the 105 (which LSU has due to the grandfathered players under the old roster limits), you can add enrolled students anytime during the season until you hit the 105.

Short answer: once you hit 105, you cannot add more; until then, you can add enrolled students.

My understanding is LSU can leave spots unfilled, to be filled at a later date. But, once the roster is full, there aren't any changes allowed.

You are correct-If you don't fill your roster, you can add to unfilled spots at a later date.

Good, if these mercenaries are not on the roster the focus can now be on the game instead of all this BS.

I can’t believe how much drama Kiffin would bring to the program to the point something like a roster submission would feel this dramatic. I mean damn lol

Sankey turned off the fax machine when he left the SEC office for the weekend.
