You Must have missed the 4x that I acknowledge he & O do not get along.
Canada has put this in motion. He hoped to had get another job but no one wanted him, not even rice or ULL. This is the next best thing. People keep saying he is getting fired which simply isn’t true.

Dude you still don’t understand that he is gonna take less money to leave. Other than the fact someone told me 2 months ago he didn’t want to come back, this is hard evidence that I am indeed right & my source was indeed right

Or are you trying to say it’s mutual and both sides will make concessions on what they would be owed in a typical walkout or firing situation?
He's trying not to say it's mutual, though the terms of a renogtiated buyout would suggest exactly that.
This is happening because Canada. Wants. Out.
Uh yeah, and Orgeron. Wants. Him. Out, which is equally noteworthy, and he is (at least) equally to blame.

No shite Lester, it was the worst kept secret in town, I’ve been saying he’s out for quite a while now.

I read this entire abortion of a thread and the only thing of substance I took away was that I definitely need to work "yat" into more of my daily conversations.

Why are you ingnoring the part where LSU is also taking less money in this scenario?
Yes, Canada wants out. LSU also wants Canada out.
LSU isn’t willing to pay what it would cost to fire him. Canada isn’t willing to walk away from the big contract while also paying LSU to do so. So they come together to negotiate a settlement somewhere between LSU paying Canada his full buyout and Canada paying LSU their buyout.

Y’all don’t even know what y’all are arguing any more

you're being intentionally obtuse....Do you think he believes taking a dead end job like Rice is an upward trajectory move for his career? Do you think that's what he envisioned when he took this job?
its been beyond obvious O wants him out as much as Canada wants out.

This is my understanding of what's happening.

MOT, I know how a buyout works. I also know that it wouldn’t happen without Canada’s blessing
Posted on 12/28/17 at 3:38 pm to Lester Earl
It wouldn’t be happening without LSU’s blessing either. You seem to be dodging that for some reason, but I’m not sure why.
You do know that if Canada leaves he actually owes LSU money, right? Why doesn’t LSU just say “No I’m not negotiating. If you want to leave just pay us what you owe.”?
They’re afraid he may just say “frick it” and stay.
ETA: And Canada is equally afraid they wouldn’t fire him if he did say that.

They could straight up fire him if he were that detrimental to the program. So no, they don’t necessarily need any reason, but they are lucky he wants to talk.

Well yea no shite. That’s not how it works when you have a $1.5mil contract. You don’t just walk away. You’re crazy to think he wouldn’t stay to collect if they wouldn’t agree to a buyout. You aren’t serious are you? LSU has zero leverage. None
Posted on 12/28/17 at 3:58 pm to BilJ
I think recruiting or lack of is a big part of this. No QB s in this class is an indictment of Canada in O s mind. Remember Juluke and his recruiting fauxpaux last year. That and I think Canada and O just clash, why else would Canada even entertain a buyout. I’d male LSU pay me all of my contract. And I don’t think Ensminger gets the job

well then sounds like he should stay. Is that still an option Les?
Posted on 12/28/17 at 4:07 pm to Lester Earl
Then you make him stay and make it work. He isn’t going to tank because that just hurts his stock more.
It’s like in Little Big League when the hot shot pitcher wanted out but the kid kept him despite his claims he would tank. Kid then asked what’s the going rate for an absent-minded pitcher who can't get anybody out?
Unless O has someone better lined up he should have all the leverage.. considering Canada wants out so bad, but he’s probably too prideful.

If LSU doesn’t have any leverage then it’s only because they want him gone just as badly as he wants to be gone, which also means you agree with everything I’ve said.
If LSU wants leverage all they have to do is say “We want you here. If you want to leave then pay us and gtfo.”
Posted on 12/28/17 at 4:11 pm to BilJ
BigJ, you’re being a smartass but you don’t understand how a contract works.
you’re better than this. Stop being an emotional mess

This thread delivers, that’s for sure.

So LSU can’t say that? If not, why?
ETA: It’s becoming pretty apparent you’re the one who hasn’t seen the language in his contract.
Or you just have some reason for refusing to acknowledge LSU also wants this to happen and are just talking in circles.

I’m laughing that you think you’re winning here. I know damn well how a contract works. I’m only saying this divorce is as much on O as it is on Canada, his boy Mike D just said as much. You seem to only want to begrudgingly acknowledge that.
