Could it be possible that RS is needing to show proof of how he is paying for his housing?
That would include personal receipts and bank accounts maybe? Could the NCAA have asked him to show proof after the Hicks (improper housing) deal was finalized?
I really hope it's something along these lines, but would only checking payment records warrant keeping him from traveling for SEC media days?

Yes. Under the current climate in the NCAA (and media sharks) I certainly think so.

If they wanted the stuff today, absolutely. No reason for him really to travel to Media Days. It's more about the coaches anyways.

Maybe it's something small like when Reggie Bush was living with Lienart in a condo owned by Lienart's dad.....I think they made him move out, but wasn't considered a pernalty, if I remember correctly.....
What would suck is the NCAA investigators haven't even had time to leave town...and now this! SOmeone run over to The Chimes and tell em we need em back on campus.

ECA is $3995 a semester for a 2 bed 2 bath. The cost per month is higher in comparison to the same type of unit at The Venue.
He would also be required as a fb player to be there in the summer and the venue is a year lease. There is absolutely no cost savings if you have to live in the dorm year round.
Surely no ones stupid enough to pay for someone like RS housing-a huge 5 star oos recruit.

Hell, idk. It could take awhile. Depends on how good of records shep, or his mom, or his family members keeps. It could be a combination of family members helping him pay for it. Maybe shep doesn't have immediate access to the paperwork showing it was paid by him or his family members. How long has he been on campus now? 2 or 3 years? Some could have been paid with checks, some with credit cards, who knows the specifics.
Getting it ironed out and the paperwork in the hands of the NCAA is alot more imporatant than giving interviews at media days though.
Also, if this IS the case, which I dont know if it is. We dont know how long ago the NCAA requested the paperwork. Could have been this week.

Jarrett. He had to pay back his stipend, which he was pocketing.

personally, i really don't think LSU would allow anything this high profile to happen, but stupider things have happened.

Maybe its just cause I'm a dirty barner, but I don't get all the cliff-jumping. Until you've lost plausible deniability, why abandon hope?

for real. there's too much money to be lost by not being able to field a scandal-free, eligible football program.

If LSU gets nailed for this, its going to look like a joke complained to outright bribery by Cecil Newton.

we really don't have a clue if the NCAA is involved, this may just be an LSU compliance issue right now. May not even be that...
