Can never admit failure in leadership and political decision making. Ever. That's rule #1. Always gotta turn it around no matter how damning it is.

This is the message that the admin want's promoted:

quote:

Let’s admit it: Coach Will Wade created this recent firestorm after he was caught on an FBI wiretap and wouldn’t discuss it. That is his right and his choice. He knew the consequences. Same as he teaches his players about breaking team rules. But it is also LSU’s duty to protect its 159-year international reputation and brand for the students, faculty, alumni, donors and citizens. You may disagree, but I believe LSU did what it had to do and put the integrity of the university ahead of athletic competition. It can be painful, but the right choices are not always the easy ones. We are all following this situation closely, as is the rest of the nation.

As a publisher, Tiger and former Board of Supervisors member who loves LSU, I understand we will all have our opinions about decisions at LSU and at times must agree to disagree. In this case, I disagree with Lipsey and believe he is not “putting LSU first.”

The problem with this message is it's disingenuous, a mischaracterization, and glosses over details, context and nuance.

The LSU admin failed in this situation. FAILED. They are hurting the LSU basketball program by being self interested and self preserving actors. They care about themselves more than the LSU basketball program.

The money they will lose by hurting this basketball program by ruining this recruiting class and if they fire Wade is in the 10s of millions of dollars over a 4-5 year period.

This admin will potentially costs LSU millions in lost revenue and donations due to their incompetent handling of this matter.

All this could have been avoided if the LSU admin would have not acted like a child with their hand caught in the cookie jar after the Yahoo Sports article. They should have acted like adults and allowed due process to occur.

If due process (that is, act on facts not assumptions) were allowed and Wade is found culpable, fire him with cause.

But until then do your internal investigation (which includes due process) and STOP acting guilty when NO ONE is guilty.

Anything touched by Bobby Swindal is scorched earth and set this state back decades. He is the worst thing to happen to this state since the Great Flood of 1927.

The Facts that no one keeps pointing out is that:
1. Alleva and the administration knew all about this FBI wire tap back in July. This is the best way that you have prepared for this situation. Suspension instead of Alleva taking 6-8 months to do his own investigation. 6-8 months Alleva could have sat down with Will Wade and his attorney and created a game plan for when this all comes out.
2. The Student Athlete at the center of this investigation surrounding Will Wade HAS BEEN CLEARED TO PLAY!!!!!!!!
3. Previous actions taken by Alleva is probably what caused Lipsey to write the letter. Jimbo Fisher disaster, Les Miles Disaster and so on!

When will people address those mis steps or ask those tough questions.

As far as Mr. Mcollester saying this was an organized post on facebook or organized campaign, check yourself there Rolfe. Your Business Report is MORE than an Organized Campaign on EVERY ONE YOU HAVE SUPPORTED LIKE OUR EXISTING MAYOR

Rolfe is just an a-hole.

I second.

Also, OP, why include any info other than Rolf’s name or “Business Report Publisher” as a description? “Jindal [and] LSU Board Appointee” applies equally to Rolf and Lipsey. When talking about different individuals, it’s best to use descriptions that distinguish them from each other.

The facts are that LSU is much, much bigger than the sports teams.
Right. It is much bigger than the BOS or FKing as well. Although it seems the BOS Chair and FKing seem intent on narrowing that gap thru diminution of the institution.
quote:

$$$ is what drives EVERY decision at LSU. BOS>King>Alleva>Wade
In terms of individual importance to LSU though, obviously salaries are a very important measure.

In that regard Wade>Alleva>FKing>BOS members.

Hmmm . . . not unlike his search for a football coach.

RM can eat a bag of dicks as far as I am concerned. Richard Lipsey has done more for LSU in his sleep than RM has in his entire life.
