Rohan was on Matt Moscona last week (link below). Ro is very high on Joe Burrow (and adamant about it!)

Rohan's comments:
quote:

"I think Joe's going to make a huge step. I know what it feels like to be comfortable in the second year of an offense. I know what kind of frickin crap he went through this year just trying to get everything right. And he did a fantastic job.

I'm just picturing now his second year. He's had a whole year here. He's had a whole year with his receivers. And he's a smart guy. And he knows what he's doing.

Honestly. um. um. Who the hell's the offensive coordinator? Ensminger! If he lets that boy loose...Man. And if it goes the way I think it will go... I think Big Joe will break my passing yardage... I'm telling you!"

Ok. NOW you are providing credible info, my friend. If Rohan says it, that really gets my attention. Nice work here, Jeaux.

Jeaux will break the all-time LSU season passing record with games to spare. He was only 500 yards shy last year after showing up 3 months before the season began. The offense had 3 returning starters. This year they lost 3 starters.

I think he has a good chance to break the record. Though to be fair to Rohan, he did it in 12 games and his record doesn't include the 444 yards he had against Illinois in the Sugar Bowl. I loved/love that man.

I agree. He definitely should break the record and I thinknhes More than capable.

That and I am Very excited about what Brady brings to the offense.

If you get a chance to listen to it, please do. Ro not only says it - he's passionate about it.

Pretty sure Ro is referring to his record - a 12 game record. As high as I am on Joe, it doesn't count (to me) unless Joe breaks it the right way.

I always enjoy listening to Rohan and his perspective (and I loved him as a player too). I think more time in the system with some new things added and building chemistry with the WRs will make Joe that much better this year. Plus, the WRs were really inexperienced last year. Also, he will have a home run threat in the backfield, so that will help as well.

In that case, Joe was 847 yards shy this past season.

It was actually a 13 game record. We played in the SEC Championship.

We only played 11 regular season games that season. His record includes his minimal stats in the SECG where he got injured.

Always enjoy listening to Rohan on AFR. He is great at taking is knowledge from his playing days and translating that to average joe's like myself.

Yep, 02-03 were the first regular seasons with 12 games, 04-05 were 11, then 12 became permanent in 06.

Reed was also shafted due to bowl game stats not counting prior to 02. I think someone broke his SEC record within a year or two due to the extra games.

Sounds right. 71 yards more a game.

I'm not sure how I missed this. I'm most always either in the car or in front of the TV during his segment on AFR. I can tell you from listening to him as many times as I have that he is very laid back, very honest and doesn't really hold back. If he was passionate about this, it's something that he truly believes and also something that he wants to see happen.

The only thing holding Joe back in terms of breaking the LSU QB passing yardage record is a good solid running game and putting teams away early.

And very unselfish. Lotta old ballplayers would be a little pissed to see their record broken. I think Ro just wants to see his team kick some arse.

Won’t this be Joe’s 1st year in the offense? At least I thought I heard the offense will be totally different this year.
