DAMN, stop being such a f*cking HOMER!!!
It's not as much that I'm a homer, just sick of hearing all the excuses. Whether you're saying it or you're saying that people outside the LSU fanbase will say it, it's all bullshite and can go both ways. It actually looks better for LSU that LSU has had 2 weeks to prep for MSU. MSU didn't have that luxury. LSU will be without Shep for sure...knock on wood...with no other injuries. MSU lost a couple this past weekend playing Auburn. LSU had a cakewalk, MSU played in a physical slugfest.
Everything points in LSU's favor as far as I'm concerned.

stating reason why MSU can win or predicting them to win are excuses how?

you are also an LSU fan, it is unreasonable for you to expect everyone else to see it the way you do. If you think MSU can't win this game, you are delusional. That doesn't mean they will of course, just that they can.

Relf won't last the entire game- not against this defense.
Doesn't LSU only have one sack on the season? Though, Relf does run it a lot, maybe that's what you mean.

Why? What would a person be thinking who picks MSU over LSU?
Auburn is a big drop from last year (though not as much as we might have expected) - and MSU couldn't beat them. They had to play everybody 100% for 4 quarters in an emotionally draining loss.
Yes they will be motivated - yes Mullen is a great coach and yes they always play us hard.
However, when you add everything up - our starters got plenty of rest, we cruised, we have an order of magnitude of talent better than MSU (except a couple of key positions) - we match strength against strength.
Does MSU have an offense as potent as Oregon? No. Are they bigger and stronger than Oregon? Yes. Are they bigger and stronger than we are? No.
The only thing in their favor is they are at home and do not have to travel.
My take - It's close until midway through the 3rd quarter and we break it open and win going away - LSU 34, MSU 17.
Trivia: Curley Hallman only had multiple victories against Tulane (4-0) and 3 SEC schools -
Ole Miss (2-2), Kentucky (2-2), and Miss State (3-1) - including the 1992 LSU team (2-9) which was the worst I ever saw, personally, and we beat Miss State 24-3 - with an offense that scored only 115 points in SEC play.
ETA: Over half of Hallman's 16 victories were against Tulane, Miss State and Ole Miss (representing 9).
This is 2011, but it's still Mississippi State, and it's still Starkville.

LSU may not have many sacks but it sure has put a lot of pressure on the opposing QBs.

I think we're taking Moo State down, but there is one big thing that we have to contend with that we didn't in the last two weeks. SEC REFS!
That was an SEC crew on Saturday night.

A win by LSU is not a gimme.
Agreed. NO SEC road win is a gimme. Even Vandy and Ky have SEC athletes that can make plays. That being said, I believe LSU goes in very focused and wins by at least two scores.

bet 120 to win a 100 if you're taking LSU -3
That's incorrect. The moneyline is a straight up bet. You bet $120 to win $100 for an outright LSU win.
You still bet $100 to win $100 if you want LSU -3.

Ok, let me get this straight. This is from Leroys Line Movements....
09/12 11:14am
LSU-3 -115 MISSST+3 -105
Would this mean that I bet $115 to win $100 if I take LSU and -3, or I bet $105 to win $100 if I take MSU and +3?

If you take the -3 or the +3, you bet even money (plus juice, if you lose) and your bet is against the points either way.
If you bet the moneyline, there is no spread. You are simply betting on the winner on the scoreboard. You have LSU -115, which means, if you want to win $100, and you think LSU wins straight up, you will have to wager $115. Likewise, if you want to win $100 and you think MSU wins, you bet $105.
This is a close game (based on the odds) so you are seeing the moneyline for both teams as a negative number, and a number really close to 100.
Look at last Thursday's NFL game:
In this situation:
If you think the Packers would win, you bet $250 to win $100.
If you wanted to bet on the Saints, you could bet $100 and win $210 if the Saints win the game.

They do not have to sack him to get him out of the game. They just need to pound him every time he gets rid of the ball.

MSU barely lost to Auburn on the road after making a ton of mental mistakes. If they cut down the mental mistakes and play angry (which I know they will) then they could easily have us back on our heels. Can our offense come from behind and win on the road? It remains to be seen.
This is still a huge trap game. Make no mistake about it.

Ok, thanks a lot for clearing this up for me. I appreciate the time you've taken to respond.

How is it a trap game when it's the first SEC game for LSU.. and all they have heard is how it's a trap game..

@RealityTiger
I feel you man, and I too believe our tigers come out with the win. Everything negative going into this game points to MSU and that spells trouble for them. It could also be the same thing that drives them to put it all on the line.
Let's not forget about UNC last year! Wasn't that supposed to be a cakewalk too?
It's just silly to think we've won the game when we haven't even played it yet.
I still think MSU loses, but there are factors that exist that could make this more of a game than it should be when all said and done.
