It actually does matter, yes it won’t bring him back but anything trying to find out the piece of shite who did it I support. Wayde deserves justice and I hope this scumbag rots in prison.

and does this matter? The young man is dead.
I'm sure Sims's family is very interested in bringing the scumbag who did this to justice.

I can barely see anything in the actual video of him being shot... but does the guy in the red pants shoot him straight on when sims is hitting him? When Sims drops it’s almost like the guy he was fighting directly in front of him vanished.

It looks like red pants was retreating, then stood his ground, likely when he pulled his gun out
Sims was charging and red pants shot him just as Sims ducked his head down
A terrible tragedy

In one of the videos, there are at least two cars with headlights on right where the fight occurred. Hopefully those people will come forward if they have not already.

Still can't sleep. This is very upsetting.

I do believe the coroner and forensics expert will determine the caliber of the gun and the angle of entry without the help of anyone on this board doing an analysis from the shooting video.

What people should focus on is what is wrong in our society, and especially, why is there such a huge issue with black on black violence? Until there is an assertive effort to both recognize, and admit that there is a widespread problem, this will will continue.

Why are we talking about this today? It's because Sims is a basketball player. However, this sort of violence is common place. Look no further than the broad daylight shooting on Canal Street if you have doubt.

My wife works in drug addiction counseling. You can't solve a problem without recognizing and admitting there is a problem, and this senseless violence in the black male community is a problem.

Has a FB. Hasn't been on in a while. Looks like someone Sims would have eventually beaten to a pulp had he not pulled a gun.

I wasn't trying to assist in any forensics efforts or assessments with my post simply trying to help people understand what potentially happened as there were questions asked about how it could have happened. Not everyone on the board has a great knowledge about ballistics or firearm information.

I can't decide whether you are really advocating that justice is not served and the truth behind what happened discovered or just emotionally stunted.

You sound like a Democrat where everything is about feelings. It's not.

don't think Sims would have beaten him to a pulp as you say, but he could have. He was just coming to the aid of a friend.

Yes. Because a bullet’s trajectory never deviates from a straight line even if hits bone. Brilliant!

Let's not turn this into a political debate, but do you really think my statement would be something a liberal would say? I think not...

This is the person arrested as the shooter.

Seems like Wayde stepped in to help a friend, who was in a fight.

WAFB

The shooter's glasses were found at the scene, but this is completely senseless.

It's a shame that a scuffle can so easily turn into a shooting. And why? In this case, there is a senseless death, a young person ruining the rest of his life and two families who have to go through the rest of their lives dealing with this. Over what?

It's also a shame that there are certain areas where so many of these young kids feel like they have to carry a gun around. And when you have too many people carrying a gun, there will be people who will reach for their gun in an emotional state.. My thoughts are with the Sims family.
