I was thinking about this, but I don't see how because Wayde had no weapon and I don't even think he had hit him yet, that guys life was not in danger at that moment.

Here's what I'm seeing:
Red pants has his hand at his back/side:
Hand comes out:
Hand coming up:
Hand leveling out to shooting position:
Here's where the pop is heard and you can see a very faint flash:
Arrow pointing to white spot that looks to me like a muzzle flash:
That white spot is too far right to be red pants' shirt and Sims' arm is up covering the area where the gun would be seen.
