BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Legendary former Southern University Baseball Coach Roger Cador has died. The news was confirmed by Southern University Board Chair Tony Clayton. Cador spent 33 seasons with Southern University, leading the Jaguars to two HBCU National Championships in 2003 and 2005. He also led the baseball team to 14 SWAC championships and finished his career with an overall record of 913-597-1. The former Jaguar legend retired from coaching in 2017 after taking over the Southern program in 1984.

That bums me out, used to deal with him a good bit at my previous job. He was the nicest guy. His health hasn’t been good the last few years so not shocked.

He was the Skip Bertman of Southern

He would have made a fortune narrating audio books, could listen to him for hours
