Richt, Caroll, Stoops
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
How many years ago did they start rebuilding? Each has more tenure than LSU's last five coaches.
EXCUSES! EXCUSES!

You think USC would be down at the half to LaTech?
Posted on 11/29/09 at 4:49 pm to MemphisJerk
No , I just think they might lose to a 40 point underdog Stanford.
People sure have short one sided memories.

We were without our starting QB. Do you think USC would beat Washington without their starter? Oh wait...

Miles
was given the keys to the kingdom.
I think the program rebuilders deserve more of a pass when they have one down season
yeah taking some ragtag program like oklahoma, usc or uga (number 4, 7 and 12 in all time winning percentage) and turning them into a winner is an amazing accomplishment.
in the 4 years before richt got to uga, they were 35-13. 22-10 in the sec. the past 4 years hes 36-14. 20-12 in the sec. hes also 2-7 all time vs ugas main rival.
Miles still has to hear the "he won with someone elses players" crap because he won a title in year 3, but stoops won a title in year 2 and hasnt done shite since.
but of course you give these guys a pass, because everyone gets the benfit of the doubt around here except for miles.

Whatever happened to Mitch Mustain at SC, he won ten games at ARK and I thought he was going to be pretty good

Hey Douchebag...I've watched every game for the last 25 years. Have you ever played the game before? Are you over 25 years old? Did you just jump on the bandwagon 10 years ago?
LSU is in the Golden Age of football, and fair weather fans like you can't enjoy it!

Now the reason for the thread. To those of you who think Les should be fired. Do you also think the 3 coaches above should also be fired? Richt, Caroll and Stoops have all recruited as well as LSU the past 5 years, yet each of them struggled mightily this year. What has Georgia ever done except win 8-10 games per year? USC got embarrassed a few times this year. What about Stoops? 7-5 simply because you lost a QB???
I'm sick and tired of all these people saying what about the bad year Stoops is having compared to Miles.
They're not only having a rebuilding year, the lost of Heisman trophy candidate in the middle of the year.
And guess what -- they played the 12th ranked team in the country last night and routed them 27-0.
They beat another team 64-0 after losing Bradford. Has LSU had any game of that magnitude all year????
No offense, but it's ridiculous how far people will go to avoid the truth about Miles. I understand, you don't want to face the fact that we're stuck with a horrible coach who we all feel nostalgic about because we've has some good times with him as HC.
But it's over. He's a really bad coach and this team will pay for it next year.

I thought that shite he pulled against UCLA last night was classless
The bruin faithful did not like that and even a couple of $C faithful at church this morning said that Carroll should not have done that and were rather disappointed with that from him.

Especially since he whined about Stanford going for that 2 point conversion against him.

Yep. He bitched about Oregon running it up on them as well.

I think these comparisons are very fair. Alos, how many games did Urban Meyer lose when he had a Soph. first yeat starter at QB? All other coaches get a pass but Miles, there's no doubt.
How in the HELL can anyone say that USC should have lost the games they lost this year. And got DRILLED---DESTROYED. OKL has lost, what 5 games. 5 is a lot.

How soon ppl forget the Boise St game. Stoops got schooled 3 times within a couple minutes span.

Maybe they would have lost. They did lose to Washington, the only common team that played both this year. But that is not a fair comparison.
Oh and to the others who say that USC and Okla did not look disorganized a few times this year, you should have watched some of their loses.

saban was down to ULM at the end of a game. get real.
Posted on 11/29/09 at 8:43 pm to SlowFlowPro
I heard during one part of the game that some Westwood nimrods defaced the Tommy Trojan statue on the USC campus.
I am not excusing the TD pass, but the bad blood between these 2 teams and schools is worse than people outside of CA can imagine.

I believe Miles got his pass last season. We saw an improvement record wise this season, but you certainly cant say there was improvement coaching wise. While I think Ole Miss and Alabama could have well been wins, UGA, Miss. St. and La Tech could have easily been losses. You cant just look at numbers. If this was a well coached 9-3 team that just got beat by better teams thats one thing but its a very very poorly coached team that wins games inspite of poor coaching and looses games it could have won if better prepared.

Under Richt. UGA won its 1st SEC title in 20 yrs in '02 then won again in '05. UGA had never been to the SECCG until Richt led the Bulldogs there 3 times.

They were to Washington! And as far as winning/ losing big or small... USC's losses were not close 47-20 Oregon and 55-21 to stanford and 16-13 to 4 win Washington. They get more 5 stars per year & the #1 ranked QB 3 of the last 4 years... your argument sucks.
LSU is in good shape for next year. Tenn, Ala, WV at home will be a much better schedule.
