I didn't think it was sour grapes at all either. I think she legitimately has a bad taste in her mouth of how it all went down.

I didn't listen to the show, but from what I've read Oregeron is getting skewered for his response. In fairness to him, I'm not sure what else he could have said. I think he probably said all that he could. He will be given a chance to right the ship as he should. But the leash should be very very short. I certainly wont defend Alleva and the hiring process but I wont' ever blame O for wanting and pursuing the job. What he did to get it can never be criticized. Now he certainly can be criticized for his lack of success since getting the job. His lack of qualifications falls on Alleva. Alleva should be fired now.

It's embarrassing and it is as damaging to LSU's image as the current product.

The national media aren't writing embarrassing articles about people on call in shows and message boards.

Our coach and Ad have already done the embarrassing of LSU's image.

Rich in N.O.
"Hey coach O, uh I'm just gonna say a few things and then end with a question.
Really what I've seen so far is a team that has given up. Even after the Syracuse game and the Mississippi State game we were talking about keeping the team together.
I've seen the rapid fall of a very proud program in the matter of 5 games. We're talking about a program that was almost equivalent as Alabama.
Who was in the title picture for almost every November for the last 15 yrs. And now we're a laughing stock.
I'm seeing a team that has the talents. We have I think, 80% of the roster is 4 & 5 star. I'm not buying the excuse that we're NOT talented.
We may be young, but man this team is stocked with blue chippers up and down left and right offensive line defensive line secondary, we are stacked.
At least according to preseason rankings and recruiting rankings. We as a fan base, I think a lot of us, weren't happy that Les Miles got fired.
And we weren't happy with how the hiring happened. We don't think that a coach that failed at his only head coaching job deserved to take over a program like LSU.
We've thought that that was something that needed to be earned.
So I guess what my question is how do you think these problems will be fixed and do you think you are honestly the coach to fix them."

Coach O

"Well um I understand your frustrations, I earned the job.
I was given the interim job and earned it, whether you like it or not.
And we're going to build a championship program.
I believe in myself and I believe in my staff and I believe in the recruiting we're going to do.
We do have some talent and we're not playing as well as we can and uh there will be no excuse coming from my mouth, I promise you that."

It's a bit hard since the stream doesn't like stopping and starting, but I think I got it 99.9% accurate.

That's a fricked up question to ask on a coach's show.

So it's wrong to ask the tough questions that people really want answers to and describe how the majority of fans feel right now?

O used Ponamsky and his site to put it out there as a locker room and staff in complete chaos, Les needed to go immediately. He was definitely in Alleva others ear about being the interim.

O knew if we waited until the end of the season to fire Les he had no shot at this job.

Main quotes I got (slight paraphrasing probably)

"You've taken over a once proud program that was in the national championship picture for last 15 years and turned it into a laughingstock"

"Lot of people didn't think you earned this job after we got rid of Les"

"Do you deserve the opportunity to fix this mess?"

Give that man a medal.

delusional to think that Miles had the program in the National Championship picture the last 15 years. His last 5 years were a joke.

This is the difference between me and fans like you. I enjoyed LSU football after 2011. We had some damn strong football teams.

In 2012 we were number 5 in the country in late November when we played Alabama. We lost that game on the last drive. Terrible loss but LSU had a great respected team

In 2013 I went to Athens Georgia and watched #6 LSU VS #9 Georgia play a hell of a game. We lost by 3 I think 45-42 but we were well respected and we played a hell of a game.

In 2014 again we lose to Bama on the last drive in tiger stadium. We were ranked 16th in the country and had a good football team.

2015 I flew from Houston to Bama ranked #2 in the country. We rolled over everyone up to that game. Remember all the highlight reels of Fournette pitching Auburn players around like rag dolls?

I agree 100 percent with the caller. LSU was a highly ranked respected team.

Losing to Bama killed the fans like you and I get it, I hated it too. Most were begging for Jimbo Fisher? Anyone check out the game this year when he had his shot at little Nick? Jimbo is no better than Les but most won't admit that.

Anyway... let me know the next time we have a team that's as strong as all those teams that I just mentioned! Bc I enjoyed all those damn strong football teams!!

Very True...we hadn't seen a "Championship Program" in half a decade.

This statement by her too was laughable:
quote:

-She saw 12 years of fighting tigers never give up like that

I saw them give up on several occasions. Les himself gave up on the biggest stage in CFB which precipitated the decline that we are in right now.

And every year that this happened (except O's interim year last year), the team and Les gave up and faltered down the stretch after the Bama game, losing to the likes of a shitty Arkansas team (twice), Ole Miss in a putrid game full of bad coaching, and again getting steamrolled in Oxford. We also got skullfricked by Auburn and Alabama during that time period. You have selective memory my friend.

Any argument that we were a "championship team" in those years can only be applied to the first half of the season, as we frequently fell out of the top 10 and top 15, and even the top 20 after the Alabama game and finished poorly, limping to the bowl game. Added to that, we also lost 3 out of 5 crappy bowl games to crappy teams during that period.
