What was the narrative in regards to last years Bama team as opposed to this years.

Trying to remember if they were as highly regarded last year as they are this...

I know you can’t compare one year to another just curious...

People were pretty accurate in suggesting that Hurts wouldn't beat you from the pocket...and that running the ball was going to be very tough.

Have to get very creative on offense, i’d put jacoby in the wildcat and run some triple option

Last year people were calling them the greatest team ever. College pundits said they had the greatest defense of all time by a wide margin with a young Cam Newton at QB.

So the difference in this years game would be from the Tigers?

Also the fact that it’s being played in t-town.

Last year was one helluva game, guess I’m just looking for hopes that we can make it that same type of game.

IMO, our offensive game plan went overboard trying to protect Etling. Granted,Alabama's defense was setting records for scoring. But we were just too timid on offense.

I can remember DE looked shook all night. He had happy feet every time the ball was snapped. I hope he's a little bit more comfortable this year.

I remember Elting got rocked on the goal line by a freshman lb.

Obviously LSU never pushed it into the endzone.

And got their defense torn to shreds by an actual qb and not a glorified RB.

I remember hearing this alot last year after the game. Coach was heavily criticized by some national pundits for being too conservative. But, the game was tied 0-0 in the 4th. We definitely had a chance to win.

They had better speed rushers last season and Jonathan Allen. I'm trying to think of positives lol

They were rated way higher last year than this year. Bottom line. They were being touted as best defense in history of college football. Quit living in the present

There was a lot of talk that they were the best college team ever assembled but a lot of that died down after we played them close

My big takeaway from that game last year was watching how frustrated the Alabama players got going into the fourth quarter until they finally wore our defense down, and thinking we needed to give Aranda another contract extension for as long as he wants to be here

What I recall is that Hurts scooted in for a TD late in the game and there was blatant holding by 3 Gump players on that specific play. I'm not saying that every single hold should be called. But when its such a close game and the specific hold(s) absolutely effect the play; then the refs should be looking for such things. It was ridiculous. Take that TD away and who know what the outcome might have been. Our Defense was cooked by that point, but the holding was pathetic.

Is Hurts better than Lamar Jackson? He goin' down!

Another fiasco by Officials is the only way he can do anything.
