Including a stud in Lavoilette that Cain took with him to A&M

Would’ve been the best player in that ‘22 class for LSU

You do realize two of those guys are projected R1 picks in the upcoming MLB draft right?

And Mershon has started and produced from Day 1 for them and was First Team All SEC this year.

Will LSU get a R1 guy from this class in the MLB drafts to come? Will they even get a First Team All-SEC performer?

We r talking about CLASSES. Not teams

Miss St also doesn’t have the recourses in NIL to buy Tanks, Skenes, Hurd et al

As an example, would you want the Tarheel's third baseman, Gavin Gallaher as a Tiger for the next two years?

The kid is a human vacuum cleaner and a tough out with the bat in his hands.

He fielded .907 on the year. You would have already kicked him off the team if it was up to you

Some of you need to chill out on the class and let next year play out and see how guys like Kling, Neal, Shores, Noot and Frey actually turn out.

We already got 2 studs between Jones and Herring there. 2 elite guys got hurt (Frey also dealing with injury) and will return and we have a couple more high level guys who just havent fully come around yet, doesnt mean they will, but also doesnt mean they wont.

ok did anyone in that class hit 28 HRs?
Is there a pitcher in that class who had a better ERA than Griffin this year?

This isn’t the answer that you are looking for, but that is baseball man.

The answer he is looking for is for everyone to agree with his assertion that Jay Johnson sucks and will always suck and should be fired.

Agree they were the two most productive (even though Jones wasn’t used late last year during the title run)

I say “were” because I think there’s a great chance they’re two and done

And whiffed 76 times against quality arms

Herring is great but he’s pitching 3 innings a weekend

I’ll take Mershon/Cijntje/Jordan production over Jones/Herring

Thanks for letting me know what I think and more importantly what I would have done; you remind me of my ex-wife, who attributed all types of BS to me that were a total fabrication of her own thought processes. Man, I really, really, really miss that crapola in my life.

Just FYI, I really have not given an inkling of a thought to "kicking him off the team" as you so erroneously attribute to my thoughts and assumed actions. Conversely. I was impressed by the kid's play in all three phases of the game in the three games that I have seen him play.

You point out that his overall fielding on the year was .907 (9 errors in 97 chances at the hot corner), yet, I witnessed him go a perfect 12 for 12 in fielding chances, with multiple truly outstanding plays, against LSU.

His decision making and base-running on the tying run were exceptional.

Even though he went 2 for 13 with 6Ks, he came up clutch with the bat in both of UNC's wins against LSU. Furthermore, he battled LSU pitching in a majority of his at bats, he was by no means an easy out hitting out of the 7 hole.

Kudos, you knocked this one out of the park.

Well alot of the seasoned posters are talking out of both sides of their mouths as well

If this recruiting class truly is the best then this year is an utter failure with 13 sec wins

I’m just not sure why everyone that “really knows baseball” is so afraid to say this year is a massive F on the grading scale based on talent

That doesn’t mean Jay sucks. Everyone gets an F every now and then

The fact that 2 of the top 4 from that class were injured for the season can't factor into that grade? If Shores and Noot stay healthy, do you think we only have 13 wins?

Jordan struck out 84 times this past season. Jones had more walks than Jordan, a higher OPS, Slugging %, and more HRs. But hey, let's cherry-pick stats.
