Gervase got more attention from scouts this year than any other LSU player available to the draft. That may sound shocking but when you realize that he was the one who scouts knew the least about, it makes sense. His stock skyrocketed and it wasn’t going to improve as a backend reliever and being 23 next year. He was more likely to go than stay. Reyz was in the same boat but he was already well known. I’m not going to pretend to know about the Creighton pitcher’s plan or history with scouts.
On a positive note, you had the perfect reply to Naptime so you get a good star.

wrong. Gervase was expected to leave and the surprise was that he was staying. So later on getting drafted and leaving was no surprise.

You have not presented a single fact in this thread.

I saw a post on an Arkansas board before the Draft. They claimed draft eligible Creighton players were told to look to the portal for a better leverage opportunity.

All 3 were 50/50. and it is offset by the fact that we are getting 2 freshman pitchers that it seemed were as good as gone.

I happen to agree with your assessment(correction before i get t.d. cancelled))except for Tebrake. You'll find that many here don't have an actual real clue.

Tebrake was gone, the other 2 many thought were at lsu next year. Both needed another year to settle in imo. Again maybe the money would not have been there next year as usual.

Assessment lol. Excuse me for being from the south. I'm not a Denham Springs Superstar ;).

This is absolutely false. When Reyzelman was recruited it was a known 1 year thing. When Gervase emerged early in the season throwing strikes, his draft stock shot up and it was never assumed he'd be back.
ETA: Whether you think they should have stayed is not what is being discussed. It's a stupid opinion, but who gives a shite. The actual consensus opinion among the people that actually know anything was that they were going pro. To say that was not the opinion of those in the know is patently false.

So Jay Johnson himself saying Gervase and Reyzelman were gone before the draft is “not having a clue.”
Do you honestly understand how leverage and the MLB Draft work? People with no leverage have no negotiability. You see them go undrafted and sign UDFA deals.. like Hilliard and Fontenot.

Jay Johnson
You should quit using the leverage story all over the place. We know we know.

This doesn't make sense. You're saying you're right because you use your opinion to justify stating that people didn't think those pitchers would leave but the people who cited Jay Johnson's statement as evidence are wrong?
That's what you're going with?

It’s truly comical at this point the stance some of these people are taking..
The Rant supposedly doesn’t know anything, but when they quote our damn HC it’s not a credible source to quote on The Rant.

Maybe when people finally begin to comprehend it and stop posting stupid opinions others will stop posting about leverage. It’s the key element to draft risks for the MLB Draft.
You saying not to use leverage as an argument is as asinine as saying bring a knife to a gun fight.
