True. They also can't assume the tag is no longer applied, hence the Call Stands ruling.

The out call was on the tag beating the runner to the bag. Clearly the runner beat the tag the question was on if he popped off and held the tag. The call of the tag beating the runner should have been overturned. Clear as day.

This isn’t how replay works.
I agree it was a bad call in the field but once it goes to replay you have to look at the entire play and every part of it has to prove you were wrong to overturn it.

All the proof said he was safe and the umps call was wrong. There was indisputable video evidence that the call of the tag beating the runner to the bag was wrong.

They don’t consult so they can’t know if the call was made due to him coming off the bag and the umpire seeing the tag was still applied. Although umps will usually signal if it was bc he left the bag. And he didn’t.

I know he beat the tag but the foot does obviously come off. When that happens in the replay they have to have proof the glove was not on him because the call was out and they are looking to overturn it.
Had the call been safe on the field the call would have stood for the exact same reason. This isn’t hard fellas.

Sure was. Did you see the replay from behind fist base? A&M player CLEARLY lifted the tag before his trailing foot came off the bag.
