Tadlock (Texas Tech) is at his alma mater. That would be a hard pull

Glad I turned it off in the 3rd.

Ill throw Dave Van Horn out there, but he's at his alma mater.

Van Horn ????????. My cousin used to ump in the SEC. He said Van Horn is a total prick. He’s 10x more unlikeable than Smoke was.

I grew up in Arkansas and went to a few recruiting camps at U of A...can confirm DVH is a total prick but he is a fantastic coach.

You guys can continue to throw out the 7 names everyone knows that coach college baseball but none of them are coming to LSU. They are established at their current places that won’t want them fired because they don’t win a NC 5 out of 10 years like Skip did.

If they do fire CPM it will be a name that none of us have heard before from either a smaller school or a northern school.

K Rob and Pap were much higher ranked recruits.

And this has anything to do with what?

Different sport but Hester and the Badger weren’t highly thought of recruits.

Smoke was a joke. At least Van Horn can coach.

Some more names that haven’t been mentioned...
Matt Deggs - Sam Houston State
Tracey Smith - Arizona State
Matt Riser - SELA
John Savage - UCLA (unlikely)
Gary Gilmore - Coastal (unlikely)

Most of those guys are good. This fanbase couldnt handle savage. Before this year his team hosted one regional in the last 5 years, and they were 2 and q in that regional

Someone like Deggs or Riser is more than likely who LSU would get if they decided to fire Paul. I’m fine with that and don’t see any problem with it. It could be great it could be bad just like any hire.

They may may be able to get O’Connor from Virginia if Paul decides to retire and he asks O’Connor to be his successor. That is the only way I see them pulling any established coach from a power 5 conference.

The best candidate on that list is matt deggs. Gilmore is close to 70, west coast wouldnt fit here, riser is a douche, and tracey smith has struggled with adapting to recruiting at a big time school in regards to the dradt.

Tracey smith is an interesting name to watch. If he does well next season, he could be a guy worth looking at.
Deggs is one i really like as well. Another good year and he’d br near the top of my list.
Gilmore would be up there too, but he is at his alma mater

Because he is making 1 mil a year through 2026. Why would he leave that to come to a place looking to fire their current coach two years removed from a NC appearance?

I've never gotten the impression that he would leave there. He'd be a "make him say no guy for me" well before Sully, Corbin, or Schloss.

Well, im not one saying PM should be fired. But if it were to happen, it would be after next season, 3 years without a regional host, which i think is unlikely. But id hope with our new AD, we could flash 2 mil a year at mcdonnell
