The outside of the west upper deck is such an eyesore.

Looks like they are more concerned about building luxury suites than seats for the average fan.
Of course. That's the demand. That's where the revenue is that allows for our program to actually continue building nice facilities to compete with the arms race of college football/athletics.
Everyone talking about the "average" fan needs to step into the world of reality and away from the world of unicorns. Y'all want it both ways. You want cheap tickets and nice facilities. Well yeah, if that's how the world works that would be nice, but that's not how it works.

Yeah I agree. But I think the expansion renderings look great.

Agreed.
I'm interested in seeing what they do with the SRO tickets and how many will be available for big games.

$100M bond?
Is the expansion actually going to cost that much? How do they expect to make that back? How much revenue would those additional seats bring each season?

Includes other facilities for other sports as well. But the overwhelming majority will be on the expansion.

In 2000, the east upper with suites cost 53 million and in 2005 the west upper with the club level and press box cost 60 million if I'm not mistaken. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I think you are correct.
Shocking now much money they spent on such an ugly design (from the outside). The west upper deck, especially, just looks terrible.

So 100M plus....
Damn. How much does football bring in annually?

Sorry, but the exterior of the new addition leaves alot to be desired.
The interior looks awesome, though...

Without going through this whole thread, because I'm sure its been said...but, the screens are nice, but its too bad after all of the COX cable, All State, and Coke ads we'll have what amounts to a 55inch television mounted in each corner.

No need to apologize, its the truth. The outside is ugly. Too bad most people on here can't see it. Unfortunately this hideous design will likely be passed

just because you think it's ugly, that doesn't make it fact.

hate the Florida State style brick exterior...for us...it is fine for others, but it is overdone in the SE US...

Uh no, its a fact

It doesn't blend in...it takes over...it definitely goes with the "theme park" theme that they're incorporating on the west side. It's too busy...sometimes "simple" is better...

Haven't been to Tiger Stadium since '08.
Have they renovated the concessions and bathrooms.
Both were a disgrace and seriously in need of action.

i dont like it at all. here are a few reasons (in no order):
1) the stadium is becoming a hodge podge of designs. not in a good way. the west upper has an interesting look that merges well with the existing stadium. the east upper is merely skeletal in nature. and goes fine as well. but now to that we are making the changes with the huge block letters AND now this. its losing all coherency
2) the scale of this looks off. too many rows of windows. it'd be better to have over-sized window to get a more pleasing proportion
3) i really dont like how the top cantilevers out. it reminds me of that goofy hotel they made on bluebonnet blvd (used to be a jimmy swaggart ruin)
the folks at TAF looking for a "vision" and continuity have really f'd all that up.

Proof that you'll never please everybody I guess. Did you turn your design in Frank Lloyd Wright?
