Oh, I disagree.
Clemson had a brilliant defensive scheme. It was impressive and slowed Burrow down at times.
Clemson’s defense did great things. LSU was just that good.

It was like watching a replay of the 1/9/12 game, except Venables was Les. He had one strategy, and it was clearly not working.
If something is working, you don't give up over 600 yards and 42 points. He tried nothing else. He hung his hat on that 3-1-7 and he got steamrolled.
The only time it really worked was when LSU was backed up in its own end of the field.
LSU was that good because LSU had mismatches all over the field. Venables gambled on Burrow not having time to take advantage of the mismatches. He lost - BIGLY.
