Then Will Wade took over a total dumpster fire of a program, went 8-10 in the SEC his first season, and made the 2nd rd of the NIT. He was fighting mad every step of the way, and his players were running through brick walls for him. He shook the Blue Bloods of CBB to their core, and the long knives were out for him from that day forward.
Woodard could have stood behind The General, and LSU could be a Top 10 team this season. However, we all know what happened.

Well, Woodward knew there was no way LSU could survive that kind of NCAA pounding. So he had to fire Wade.

Weren't we 9-9 in the SEC last year then we got our first NCAA notice since the 1990's putting the whole program into limbo?

No he fricking didn’t. I’d rather ride out whatever sanctions came with Wade than not have him running our program. We’re still gonna deal with the NCAA’s bullshite but now we’ve got to go out and find a coach who actually knows what the frick he’s doing, which as we know can take a damn long time.

I'm not sure he could've. Wade's hubris didn't allow it.
Again, all he needed was a burner phone and someone else's checking account besides his wife and he's still the coach.
