I was sitting in Left Field. Leon made those ESPN top plays right there... and got his eye busted open right in front of me.

I remember turning to the kid next to me in the 8th and said, "we are about to see one of the greatest comebacks in LSU history."

I know ... :csb:

Part 1
Part 2
Part 3
Part 4

I still get goosebumps.

I was there and it was one of the most amazing things i'd ever witnessed.

ETA: Ha! The 1:37 mark on part 2. You can see me and my two buddies over Mitchell and Javi's shoulders when he walked in the ninth. Proof I was there!

Great game. The old Box looks like shite though. I've become spoiled.

That was the first year I made the Rally Crawfish. Me and 3 friends printed out some rally crawfish pictures, and sat under the overhang. We put them on our hats in the 9th and asked everyone around us to rub the Rally Crawfish.

If fricking worked. We couldn't believe it.

That lineup had some sticks.....to have Lamaiheu (sp its been too long ) in the 7 hole.....youngsters on that team were a bit shocked in Omaha I think....righted the wrong the next year though.

I'll never forget sitting by there bullpen and singing "Fat guy in a little coat" to one of the relief pitchers. Dude could hardly warm up bc he was laughing.

The visiting bullpens don't get ridiculed near what they used to. Throughout the 90's, those guys were defeated before they even entered the game. Facebooking phone numbers and the like has ruined the art of shite talking. I enjoyed being a part of the LF Lunatics at the old Box.

ETA: I'm not saying the shite talking isn't good, I just don't find it has near the effect as it used to. Maybe visiting pitchers adapted to thicker skin over the years.

I only made it to Game 1 but it was without a doubt some of the most fun I ever had at LSU. We brought in a cooler and sat near the Irvine bullpen and just gave them constant shite. We were obnoxious. The other students loved it but the older folk didn't. I think I yelled out to their midget mexican catcher How did you get over the fence?

Ill never forget leaving class though and walking by Tiger Stadium to my car and hearing the crowd going nuts during Game 3 as we just shelled them.

I will remember this game forever. I was not at Alex Box, but my mom had just passed away the day before the LSU Ole Miss game in the SEC tourney, which was a few weeks before. I was listening to the radio at home and going thru some of my Mom's things and when we started to come back I instantly thought my Mom had some divine intervention. I am a big time LSU fan and she used to hear me curse, cheer, cry, etc on anything LSU. Good times.

My first post on tigerdroppings was about this game. A fitting way to say goodbye to the old Box.

My favorite Super Regional action was when there was no super regional. When it was a 6 team double elimination no 2 outta 3 shite like we have now. Back in those days the best team really did make it to Omaha. But hey that jus my opinion.
