on 6/16/20 at 10:09 pm

Joe is now the #9. Billy is always 20 and Pete is 23.
This list is not necessarily the best player for each number but the ones stuck in the memory of an old guy who remembers the 70’s.
1 Jimmy LeDoux, wrote Its a Girl on his jersey for the Sun Bowl
2 JaMarcus
3 Kevin Faulk but also Al Coffee and Carlos Carson
4 Charles Alexander
5 Apologies to Ensminger but Jeff Wickersham is my #5
6 Lionel Wallis I don’t know why???
7 Alan Risher always pops, but PP and Honey Badger
8 David Woodley
9 Billy Broussard don’t even know if that’s right number, Leroid Jones
10 Willie Sims basketball
11 Chris Carrier
12 (Roger Staubach)
13 Robert Dow
14 Freshman Tyrann, Jesse Myles
15 Flynn
16 Robiskie
17 (John Havlicek)
18 Buddy Lee
19 (Johnny Unitas)
20 Jordy Hultberg, I’m embarrassed
21 Dalton
22 Kenny Higgs basketball, Alley Broussard
23 Pete
24 Leonard Swat Mitchell
25 Justin Vincent
26 Alvin Lee credit to N.O. via West-Cal
other random numbers...

As far as the 70s go, #7 will always be Bert Jones to me. I had forgotten that Alan Risher also wore 7.

No doubt. Jones should be the #7 I remember first but I was a student when Risher played at LSU. ‘82 season, FSU game, beating Bama and going to Orange Bowl put Risher on my list.

He did the same thing to Mauck at Florida. Little Nicky didn’t trust his backups.
