At halftime of the first home game following 9/11/2001, Tiger Band played Amazing Grace, without their shakos (hats) to honor the fallen. Was a very moving moment that I remember vividly. Just thought I’d share the video to keep those heroes in our memory.

That was the most memorable thing we ever did while I was in TB....It was the weirdest feeling to be there on the field in front on 90+K people and not a single sound was made. It was the only time I can remember being able to actually hear the count off and not having to solely rely on visual cues.

This is, without a doubt, the most moving moment I've ever experienced in Tiger Stadium in a lifetime of moving moments.

Thanks for posting this!

I was living out of the country for the amazing 2001 season and had never seen or heard about this tribute.

Emotional viewing. THANK YOU for sharing.

They also did another tribute (with Amazing Grace) in 2011. This time honoring Scott Lamana (lost at 9-11 from Baton Rouge) with his family on the field. Same amazing response from our fans.

Unbelievable moment! When they went to the second verse and the brass really comes alive - wow!! Definitely onions in here.
Salute to TGBFTL and Mr Wickes.
