Threw for 463 yards against that defense? It’s gonna be ok...

You are being logical, that is frowned upon here.

Texas has a great offense. We made plays early at the goal line and got lucky on one. Defense definitely struggled in the first half, but those 8 plays at the goal line early were huge.

They went on to win the Big East. Just like Texas will win the Big12 this year

Thanks for posting this and a vaunted 2011 LSU defense gave up a total of 533 yards to WVU and they outgained us 533 yards to 366 yards . Had it not been for their 4 turnovers and Mo Claiborne's return to the house we would not have won 47 to 21. I trust that our defense will be okay.

If I recall that game we always had a 14+ lead and literally gave up the short 5-7 yard pass the entire game to keep WVU out of the end zone

Mo stopped the bleeding that game.

yep I thought all week that the WV game was the closest comparison to this matchup we've seen.

Not always. They cut it to a TD. Place was rocking.

And Mo Claiborne quieted the crowd. Very similar to Jefferson TD last night.

yeah but that was a blow out win and a lot of those yards didn't turn into points and/or were in garbage time. I like the optimism but they cant get manhandled and give up like that and be compared to the 2011 defense.

That’s why I didn’t say this is going to be the reincarnation of or the same as 2011, merely noting the fact big time defenses can still give up big numbers against a skilled opponent.
