Look, he has played well at times. Often as not, though he was well below average.
Many of us thought he showed promise at times.
If you think he demonstrated "greatness" anyt any point, the Donald Trump campaign wants to talk to you...

Most quarterbacks "coached" by Les and Cam get PTSD pretty quickly after taking the reins as starter. They need sports psychologists now, not more coaching by our coaching staff. And I use the term coaching staff very loosely here.

It isn't irrelevant! He played "great" against a low division 1 team. My god, are you sleeping with him? Then his "great" play went 3-14 vs Auburn

POST OF THE YEAR!!! Even JJ seemed to shine back in the day as a freshman.

JJ's freshman year was by far his worst. Check the stats if you don't believe me.

I'd argue that his junior year was. his freshman year was basically 2 games, one kinda meh, the other a good bowl game performance.

Then you clearly didn't watch the games.

Any ways, I will try to help you out..

LSU 2014 vs Mississippi St, trailing 34-10 in the 4th quarter.

Jennings was still in there missing throws like this

Just for reference to the few idiot posters who question if Harris is really better than Jennings. Yes, he is. And how they felt he didn't miss short throws. He did.

LSU was once again around a 70 to 30 run to pass ratio, even though it wasn't effective.. so they finally try to throw late.. Jennings is inaccurate.. and they bring in Harris and let him throw it around a little..

Any ways, 2nd down with Jennings

Just horrible.. No real effort. Oh and that was an ineligible receiver down the field because of the formation. So stupid.

3rd down they hit Magee out the backfield for some yards.. 4th down they go for it and get it on the ground.. so time is running down..

LSU winds up rushing for a TD..

So they still have Jennings in the game late.. Cuz, Miles.. so what happens..

Jennings has no pocket awareness, nor any help.. and he gets absolutely blasted..

So we punt and Miss St gets the ball. they drive down inside our goal line.. and on 4th and 1 inside the 5 they go for it..

AND THIS IS WHY I DO NOT WANT MULLEN..

Miss St literally thinks the game is over.. they are up 34-16 with under 4 minutes to play so instead of just kicking the field goal and taking the extra 3 points.. they just run a play to try and get the first or a td.. and LSU absolutely stuffs them..

turnover on possessions..

Mississippi St's all like.. this is over..

So, because Jennings got blasted.. and is hurt.. and there's only 3:43 on the clock.. Miles finally puts the talented Harris in..

1st play

2nd play

on a line between defenders, right where his guy can go make a play
3rd play

4th play incompletion
5th play hits hit rb on a crossing route

6th play.. BOOM..

34-22, LSU goes for 2, designed qb run. he runs up the middle and reaches out to the goal after breaking a tackle but they ruled he was down so it stayed 34-22

(meanwhile the commentators are going on about what they always say.. LSU was too one dimensional while miss st was two dimensional.. and it cost them)

so colby comes on for an onside kick.. but kicks it out of bounds.. LSU winds up getting a turnover.. so they take over with 1:32 left

and another BOOM. utilizing the 6'3 receiver over the smaller db

34-29 now

another onside attempt.. another poor attempt.

LSU holds them to a punt with 27 seconds remaining..
They punt it to the endzone

LSU now has 20 SECONDS from their own 20..

and then..

1st down..

that's what an NFL throw looks like.

he then wisely takes the free yards given to set up a potential GAME WINNING hail mary.. not game-tying.. game winning!

He now has LSU at the opponent's 47 yard line with 7 seconds left.. gets off a clean spike.. so LSU now has one more play!

but unfortunately they have just too many people back in coverage.. Harris does a tremendous job getting off this kind of throw on the run down the sidelines..

but it's just not a likely play to complete.. but he had them in the position to win. and if they had gotten the fg they could have tried a quick out instead and set up a game tying fg.

he was very special in this game and showed his talent.

the NM St game he was in absolute beast mode.. after relieving Jennings, who had his worst game ever.

yet Jennings had like 2 turnovers in what seemed like a minute versus their D.

regardless, Harris has shown how great he play with 4 to 5 wide and primary spread. Harris would be a very successful college QB in the right system. one that spreads it out and lets him run and gun.

You sound bitter as frick.

Any ways, he was a TRUE FRESHMAN making his first start on the road at a tremendous environment.

The very next season as a Sophomore he went 12 of 17 with 1 td against their D.

The throws Harris made versus Mississippi state and the game he had was incredible.. That was a veteran team, and Mullen was telling reporters even with 3 minutes left he was concerned they had too much time.. so he was very much trying to win that game.. so spare me any of the backup players BS.. those were NFL throws regardless.

Spread the athletes out and let Harris play what he is comfortable with coming out of high school.. you can still run your Fournette 18 times a game.. but mix it up.. stop playing afraid of turning it over. you know why.. because your punter isn't very good any ways.. and as many 3 and outs as LSU has.. that's pretty much turnovers any ways. i'll take 2 tds passing if it means 1 int, over 0 td passing early on in a game.

I could accept that as it was a truer picture of a full season after having time under his belt. Pure numbers say freshman year but that is a small sample size. Even his Junior year was as good as anything Harris has had so far, I think (haven't looked at the actual percentages).
