Jack Bauer was a projected top 10 pick and he had a 6.0 ERA in the conference.
Thatcher Hurd had a 6.55 ERA his junior year and was a third round pick.
Chase Dollander had a 4.75 ERA his junior year (gasp! worth than Schmidt!) his junior year and was drafted 9th overall.

Jack bauer wasn't rated as high as Williams on perfect game and is only a freshman. This is william 2nd year.

Bc I have seen how highly recruited/drafted pitchers out of highschool perform, and Schmidt isn’t even close to being mediocre by any metric. He could have gone to ULL and maybe been a little better. Maybe he’ll develop by 2030
