You just fired the best “cultural fit” the program could possibly have

Should not even be a talking point

I would say of any coach I can remember at LSU, Kelly is most like Saban.

Or miles. Everyone loved miles for a while until he started losing to Bama every year. The cultural thing is stupid to me. Football culture is the only culture we should be looking at in our HC. Kelly brings that.

Are you listening or watching national sports media? If so, you'll probably hear them bring this issue "Cultural Fit" up quite a bit. It's just a talking point. They have to fill up the airwaves with content, and, because they are on the air for so many hours, they'll talk about every silly thing imaginable.

Cultural Fit? BK is here to coach a football team and lead a football program. He speaks English and is from the USA. That's a good enough "Cultural Fit".

He also said I'm not here to change the culture, I'm hear to embrace it.

Is Kelly willing to do unethical shite in the unethical state of Louisiana? If so, he will be a great cultural fit.

where is Dale Brown from?
where is Skip Bertman from?
where is Nick Saban from?
where is Les Miles from?

hint: none are from anywhere near the state of Louisiana.

just because the man doesn’t know how to start a roux, doesn’t mean he can’t buy into the culture and win here.

Could be wrong, but I took that response in reference to his family now being in Louisiana.

I'd say they're identical.

They are very similar hires except:

Kelly had a better pre LSU career
Kelly is 12 years older
Kelly is not a threat to jump to the NFL

Saban came from Mich St. No one cared that the Spartans coach was poached. There are a lot of Golden Domer alumni in sports media that are scandalized.
