We could have have won the game wtth a bunt, when Laird was up with one out and a man on third.

He's our best contact hitter besides Bregman. You already have a guy at third. All he has to do is get it in the OF. For the squeeze to work, we would have needed a faster guy at 3rd and a more reliable bunter which laird is not.

Plus, Laird has proven to be a pretty shitty bunter. It was just a good self-defense play by Orvis.

And we also could have won it if the ball he hit was two feet to the right, left, or bounced in front of him. Not to mention we may not have won it if the bunt sucked.

Sure, we could have. But with the infielders in, there was a,much better chance of him either hitting one on the ground through the hole or lifting one into the outfield. I'm not sure you "squeeze" guys know what the frick you're talking about. I played high level high school baseball, and relatively low level college ball--nothing remotely like what these guys face. And we worked every single fricking day on situations where teams were trying to squeeze. At that level, Ole Miss was not gonna get fooled. It would have taken a perfect bunt, that would have been more luck than skill to be honest. The right play was to let him hit. It doesn't work. Its baseball . shite happens.'

OP is an idiot based solely on his post.

Omaha's fences are way too deep and the wind blows straight in. No one is hitting long balls in that park. If you want to win it all these days, you learn to steal bags and hit singles. CPM philosophy is on point. I do however dislike his intensity, but his philosophy is the future of college baseball.

I don't give a shite about the long ball, just give me a hit. First 3 batters in the lineup were 0-19 in the game and you won't win with stats like that.

Lots of bad luck there. Bregman hit two of the hardest balls all night. Laird hit the hardest ball of his life. Lazare actually took another hit away from Bregman too. So even though you think you're posting a relevant stat, if you paid attention at all, you'd know the loss had very little to do with the top 3 hitters

Bats are still duds. The swing in the ninth should have won it for us. Baseball is ruined because pitchers can pitch with no fear of the long ball. The balls have no bite and hang forever. Hard liners are now soft liners. Sucks to be a batter. Life is a beach holiday for the pitchers, unless you are lefty, brought in to face lefties and give up the lead to two batters.

It affects both teams, live with it.

Bregman?
******************************

..his forte : Hitting "smokin" line drives directly at/to a fielder. For outs. Other than that , great at hitting hard ground balls into double plays with runners in scoring position ... jus' sayin' ....

We have absolutely no power. Only three homers in one game is a joke.
