Really no reason Myles Brennan shouldn't at least get some reps now

He will get to keep his redshirt and it will give him some good experience. Tons of programs play their back up QBs all the time. Heck even Burrow got reps at Ohio State.

Now if these games the next two weeks are close in the 4th quarter that changes things, but I think we really need to take advantage of the new rule that allows him to get this experience and still redshirt

I really wish he could put it all together. He has all the arm talent.

Except that a New Year’s Six Bowl is still very much within reach.

What does a NY6 bowl have to do with him playing?

No reason we shouldn’t beat the shite out of Arky and Rice

Does it even matter? I love Brennan, think he has all the talent in the world, but he will never do anything in this offense. He is probably not being well developed and when he does start he won’t get good schemes and playcalling.

Agree.

If we get comfortable leads on Arky and Rice, Brennan needs to play a full quarter/half to get reps in case he is needed to step in.

Since he can't lose his red shirt this year, let's start investing some game experience in him so he is good to go in 2020.

Should have at least gotten reps against Bama. Try something different.

From the little bit we've seen, he's a gunslinger which makes him high risk/high reward. When you're down 16-0 at the half with negative rushing yards you have nothing to lose. So what if he throws a pick?

Then why is he on the team?

He'll Red Shirt but I seriously doubt he'd have less completion percentage than Burrow. Burrow runs very well but I think Miles will be the better passer in the long run.

With that said, how can we consistently do worst offensively than other SEC teams against Bama and still think we have good coaches?

Burrow has 6 passing TDS and 5 INTs through 9 games.

It’s not far fetched to give the kid a chance. Those are terrible numbers.

To do what? Get crushed and fold at the first sign of pressure.

I dunno. I kinda would like to go 10-2. So, I see no reason to play Brennan unless we're blowing someone out.

Exactly. Burrow is terrible. See if Brennan is any good. Why not?
