Really don’t understand the decision with Chasen Hines declaring for the draft

I hope he gets drafted and kills it, but I think he could’ve improved his stock to 3rd to 6th round by coming back rather than 6-7 rd or UDFA. Really hope it works out for him, but i don’t get the reasoning behind it at all.
Edit: just saw he hasn’t made his decision yet

Could make a lot of money by coming back and showing he can play center, but I think that ship has sailed for whatever reason.

LSU players don’t ever seem to do this

Mock draft
Maybe this has something to do with it?

Hines has huge upside
Literally and figuratively , he has to be one of the biggest lineman in the sec and that we’ve had that I can remember
ETA. As an interior lineman I mean. I think he has upside considering the fact that he’s such a good run blocker that if his pass blocking gets better he could be a pro bowl guy one day. I’m still suprised with the mock I posted above. I didn’t expect to see him in a second round mock. Maybe he’s leaving because he’s getting that kind of feedback

I feel like he’s as good as he’s gonna get. He might as well go pro and avoid another year of wear and tear on his body.

He hasn’t made significant improvement over the last two years. Is one more really going to help? If he is what is he and wants to take his shot, then what’s the problem?
There’s no reason to knock anyone who played 4 seasons here and is ready to go. That’s what most of the critics here are really doing.

He has ZERO chance of getting drafted.
And 50-50 on getting a UDFA contract.
He is being foolish by leaving now....

I’ll be glad if I’m wrong, had no idea he was mocked to go that early, thought he was looking at 5th round at best.

He needs to get drafted by the Steelers and keep his number 57. How the heck did he not get that NIL?

Yeah I’m really surprised by it too. It’d be awesome if he does end up getting drafted that high. I definitely saw 5th round as his ceiling, never would’ve expected him being mocked in the early second round. Either way, hope he kills it at the combine and has a great pro career.

Dude every mock draft has him listed and some as high as 2nd round. The one the guy linked has him being picked 43 OVERALL!!!!!! What linemen do you have going ahead of him? What are the reasons you feel he needs work on or just isn’t good at?

That mock draft that Tigerpride18 linked is terrible. What a joke
They have Matt Corral going in the middle of the second round instead of the top of the first round.

I hear ya, just making a point to old BUDA up there that Hines is listed in almost every mock anywhere from 2-6 in the ones I’ve seen. Somehow BUDA feels he has no shot, ZERO POINT ZERO percent chance of getting a call.

He’s not going 2nd round PERIOD

This board said he was terrible all year. Needs to work big in offseason and return.
