34th or 35th in one ranking system gives us a chance to win a national title. Any average teams from another sport qualify for that opportunity? I understand your point but “average” is the wrong choice of words. Flawed? Yes, maybe even a pretender rather than contender but not average. We’re a first place team in a top conference with a 17-6 record, that’s not average.
The 16-17 team won 2 SEC games, that’s the worst record in school history. You can’t compare that team to this one or say they were average.

In the modern era there hasn’t been a single team ranked that low that’s gone on to win a title. Even the Connecticut teams were in the top 20 before the tournament started.
And this sort of enters a rabbit hole, but you can still be an average team that gets hot in a 2 week span and make a run. That doesn’t mean the previous 32 game sample size was wrong.
And yeah average might not have been the right word. Flawed is probably better.

We were 18th yesterday and are currently projected as a 5 seed. There have been lower seeds and worse teams who’ve won it. And besides you’re moving the goalpost from above average to national title winner. Again your concerns are spot on but you’re giving a lowest possible outcome type of description.

Honestly shows you how back basketball is when we have idiots melting like this after a top 15 road loss. BOOT UP BABY

Yea its funny, ETSU is the only team to handle them for 40 minutes. They just played with no energy that night. VCU started bad but was a close game once they cooled off. Everyone should be satisfied that we’re in the mix to win the league again and in the tournament as of now. All I wanted from this team was to get back to the dance and maybe win a game there.

Bingo and we're still having a good season which pretty much puts the "Wade isn't a good X's and O's coach" to bed. If hes doing this with a flawed team then he has to know what he's doing. It's not as if we're just winning on talent alone here.

quote:FIFY. We won 8 SEC games in a row. We lost on the road to a bad Vandy team who was due to beat somebody and shot out of their minds. We lost to a ranked Auburn team on the road in overtime because they also shot out of their minds at the end. GTFO with your chicken little negashite.
Reality is Smell the crawfish is a SHITTY poster at best

I love when people make threads and comments about any LSU team being average or not very good when there is an 85 percent chance they have never watched a game where LSU was not one of the teams.

We went from bottom of SEC to winning the SEC in 2 years. In the 3rd year we are 8-2 with a depleted squad. We have 5 guys that doesn’t include PG and center.
You guys are delusional. We aren’t blue bloods. We need 5 years to build squad depth.
We are not blue blood. Take your purple and gold classes

We could easily have three more losses or more if the ball bounces the other way.
We could also have four more wins.

They are better than you think. BUT they need another playmaker like Mays... That would make a huge difference.

I don't think we're top 20 legit right now. But we have that in our veins.
The Vandy loss was terribly bad.
The Auburn outcome was unfortunate, but showed what this team can do.

Were far from average
There are a lot of teams out there and were better than a vast majority of them. Literally better than average
We may not be an elite team, and I think we really are missing a few pieces, but saying we are average is rediculous
also, its like everyone has amnesia when they start saying shite like WW can't coach. Its like they forget where we were as a program 4 years ago.

I think he's a good coach but does makes some stupid choices at times.

I think you could say this about every coach though.
It is very easy to see who the bad coaches are in college basketball. They lose a lot of games.
