It’s hard to get out coached and go 16-2 in SEC play buddy.

The bandwagon people seem to think that LSU basketball is on the same level as Football and baseball. This is the climb now, we had the worst season in SEC history fewer than 4 seasons ago. This is what happens when you only start watching a team a year ago, you have no perspective and no grasp of context. To compare it to the other sports you’d have to compare it to Football at the start of Arnsparger and baseball to the late 80s. We need bandwagoners but they sure are ignorant.

Will Wade has put LSU basketball back on the map. Is he a great Xs and Os coach? Probably not. He is a great in game coach? Probably not. Has he done great at LSU in his short stint? Absolutely. Your an idiot, please stop posting.

Also, let me remind you. Will Wade is 37 years old, one of the youngest coaches in NCAA. He will only get better. Just like our team learns from every loss, Wade learns from ever loss.

Such a great point about his age. Plus he’s proving every season that he is learning. If ppl remember last year Bigby and Taylor weren’t playing much early on. Wade wanted a smaller faster more perimeter based team but once he saw the ability and size of this league he adjusted and we took off. He also adjusted Naz Reid’s game which turned out great. Now we’re seeing Watford turn into a star and Smart go from a liability to one of our most consistent players. That’s coaching and adjustments.

In my opinion, Will Wade is the problem! He's a great recruiter and knows how to pay the players, but he's not a good game day coach. He gets out-coached just about every game and LSU barely ends up winning. We have better talent and athletes than most teams we play, but our coach is average at best and the Auburn game proved it. Pearl made adjustments and Wade had no answer.

We are an average team but it has nothing to do with coaching lol. This team has no size, can’t shoot, and can’t defend the perimeter. Yet we’re tied for 1st in the SEC and are going to make the tournament. Best coaching job of Wade’s career.

I firmly believe they are over achieving this year. We don't have any size and won't stand much of a chance against a big team in the tourney.

Not sure I agree here. While we were fortunate to win a couple of games we did I thought we should have won 2 or 3 games we did not, especially yesterday where we really outplayed and should have beaten the best team on our schedule to this point in a hostile environment.

The size thing I think has been overstated time and again. We've held our own down low and the college game and basketball in general is trending away from the true post basketball of the past.

I think what has lost us more games this year than being whipped down low without question is the lack of a true point guard.

I love Mays, he is a warrior and Smart is a talent who has IMHO yet to consistently play to his true strengths but they are not true point guards and that has reared it's ugly head in key moments.

But that we've overachieved...I don't agree, I think we're about where we should be and when Manning gets back, we'll be more formadable..but I think the lack of a true point will limit us from getting to where we might hope we could.

A tourney appearance and a win in the tourney is definitely a reasonable expectation and probably what we get and is likely what this team is all said and done. And I can live with that....this year.

Let’s see, a projected 5 or 6 seed in the tournament is just an average team .... ?

There are 347 college basketball teams who are eligible for the NCAA tourney. We’re in the top 25-30 of them, that isn’t average it’s way above.

We’re 35th in Kenpom and 34th in T-rank. Maybe a bit above average, but that’s not “good” imo. It’s fine. We’re fine.

A team like Texas A&M, who is in the 150s in metrics is not considered average. Would you consider that 2016-2017 LSU team as average? I wouldn’t.

The fact that people want to dog on Wade on this board, like we're some underachieving basketball power and Wade is holding us back is the most ridiculous thing I've witnessed here....

And that's saying something

Quite contrary. Wade has this team punching above their weight. He could win the sec in a rebuilding year or at least make the tournament. When's the last time we had those shots in a rebuilding year. Let wade get another good class in and sweet 16 to final 4 run is in the cards.
