Explain to me how 8-4 with what most said was a favorable schedule is enough to keep his job after a .500 season.

Realistically we beat central mich

I’m actually pretty worried about this one. They have a better coach than us and they played Missouri tough and dominated last night. Yes it was Robert Morris they played but we couldn’t even dominate mcneese.

Going to be an epic battle in Tiger Stadium between this LSU team and Central Michigan. Get your tickets now before they sell out. :)

Is Orgeron fired mid-season or does he make it through the year?

Smart thing to do is let him finish out the season. It's more dignified and removes any obligation to pretend to consider the interim head coach while working out the contract details with Billy Napier.

I would not bet money on that.

On paper, this LSU team easily loses to Alabama, Florida, Auburn, Ole Miss, and Texas A&M. That's on top of the loss already sustained to UCLA. And we don't play Vanderbilt or Tennessee this year, so every other SEC team on the schedule has a fair chance to beat us. It's far more likely that we'll have no fewer than four losses than it is that we'll have no more.

Not to mention that the defense is still awful despite looking decent vs McNeese.

I don’t disagree with the rest of your post, but how do you make this statement like it’s fact? Maybe, just maybe, the defense was bad in their first game with a new D coordinator and scheme. Maybe UCLA is a good team? Our defense looked good against McNeese, full stop. Yes, I know my McNeese is a bad team but that’s who they were playing.

Pick those 7 wins

No, it didn’t. McNeese is a bad team.

2020: worst D in LSU history.

Promised to fix D issues all off season.

First game, same issues and result of 2020

After 3 practices, Ed states they’ve fixed those issues. Lol

LSU can dominate the next 2 games and it means nothing.

Improvement will be answered vs MSU/Aub/Kentucky

Yeas and that’s why you can’t read anything into the way the defense played last night.

McNeese is that bad.

If the D plays that well vs CM, then we can talk about improvements

Last night was a game that can only show how bad we are, answers zero questions about weather we’ve improved or not.

OK, let's say the defense has improved as much as you say, what about the offense? SEC coaches will shut this offense down, completely! Our oline it's not going to be able to compete with the d-lines they will face in the SEC. That being said, or defense will be worn down by halftime from being on the field so much because our offense will not be able to move the ball consistently. Not a recipe that is going to generate wins in the SEC!
So, even if our defense has improved, our offense, mainly the o-line, has not!

If he goes 5-6, doesn't that mean he made it through them year?

Yeah, MSU most likely win. Hopefully steal Arkansas and Kentucky too.

Counting MSU, we should have minimum of 4 wins. We’ll see about the rest

We will have minimum 5 and perhaps 6 to 7. This team is bad at football.

Exactly.....it hasn't been fixed, and doesn't look like it will be...it doesn't matter how good the D is, or the QB/WR (who are dropping passes anyways) if the OL can't block we will struggle all year. We might muster wins against MSU and Kentucky...but all other SEC games I see as a loss with the way they played the past 2 weeks.
