Hillard and Blue emerge from the pack by mid season with Hill also breaking into the rotation in a big way before the season is over

See I think Hilliard will become number #1 a quarter of the way in. Then Ford and Blue will fight for number 2. Ware will probably be used on a ran down D with both Hill and Magee getting pt. If Hill is as good as yall say, I still just don't know how he cracks the top 2 spots. Closest I see him is at 3 with about 6 carries a game.

Top guy 17-18
#2 10-12
#3 6-8
#4 on down 10

Magee cant redshirt unless injured. Hill sat our last year with his personal/legal problems. Dont look for him to take another year off...

Heard some rumors going into Spring Practice that Blue may move to WR. Anyone hear anything else on that or is that rumor dead?

That rumor got killed awhile back. Miles said he might be the best RB on the team and so that's why they didn't move him.

Why? He didn't redshirt his true freshman year....Can you not put the redshirt on anyone that is not an academic freshman???

great statement! i just hope we can keep em all happy! even though this rotation will lessen the chance of tons of accolades, there is alot of selling points to this. early action/exposure instead of waiting 2-3 yrs for feature backs to move on to nfl, staying fresh and healthy throughout your college career due to not getting 25+ carries a game.. NFL RB's avg career is only bout 6yrs.. anyone else agree?

wouldn't make much sense to move your most explosive RB to WR IMO. The rumor is dead.

Why would you split the carries between more than the four main backs? Maybe against an FCS team or something give Hill and Magee carries...but seriously I'd imagine Hilliard/Ford/Ware/Blue don't like being limited as it is.

it worked 13 out of 14 games. not too shabby. they definitely have to be unselfish.. also when ya have that much talent at the rb spot ya want to keep em all happy. there is definitely advantages to both.

True, but why play Hill and Magee too?

Hill will not red shirt. He is a monster, we are simply loaded at RB.

Hopefully bama finds out

I would love for the 5th string RB to score on Alabama

The ONLY reason to not redshirt Hill and Magee is because RB is not a position that it pays off in the long run. You have a great junior year you go can go pro. Redshirting isn't likely to keep them here any longer than if they didn't redshirt.

I would like to see Hill/Hilliard/Ford get most of the carries.

It sure does suck to be a kick arse RB and end up 5th or 6th in the rotation because you are playing on a team where every RB is potential pro material.

I am positive that LSU has a better backfield than any college or pro team. There are some individuals that are better out there but I would take our backfield over anyone's.

I really think Blue emerges as the best back. I am wrong all the time, but he seems to have the best acceleration in the group. See Georgia last year...he just blew past those safeties. Deceptive speed and power.

I love all of our backs, but I think 4 is enough...some of the backs get underworked as it is. One thing that I would love to see is Blue catching some screens and swing passes out of the backfield. IMO he looks like a natural slot and is by far the best openfield runner we have at RB.

I think Magee might be better in the open field than Blue and Ford sure seems to have a way of keeping his distance from would be tacklers once past the line of scrimmage.

You can. they probably won't, though. but i guess they could depending on how jeremy hill looks.

Jeremy Hill is going to be sick eventually.
