kind of take Ford or more likely Blue out of it.
A case could be made that Blue is the most complete (speed and power) back on the team.....I don't think you can take Ford's ability to get to the edges out of the equation. If not for that we lose 11/5 IMO.

kinda hoping they redshirt Magee in similar fashion.
I think this is the best case scenario for the kid.....I just hope he can see it.

I wouldn't go that far. it's not out of the question that he could jump someone ahead of him. he's fast, shifty, and much to Les' delight looks to finish off his runs strong.

I think each back will have their own package. Ware and Hillard behind a FB is scary. Ford and Blue in 1 back with another WR in teh game to spread the D out is also scary.
When we get in the gun.... blue and shep next to the QB is a great look.

I think this would depend on some injuries like someone said above.....injuries will happen but it is hard to count on that for playing time.....especially when you are sitting at number 5 at best in the rotation.
I don't know I just think his best chance to put up numbers and elevate his career to a higher level at LSU would be to redshirt this year. I could be wrong but I just don't see him making that much of a splash this year without some injuries.

Well if Mcgee doesn't redshirt he'll be a senior before the logjam on the depth chart clears out, and even then he'll still have Hilliard as the same year as him. Let him redshirt and build some space between him and the Ford/Ware/Blue trio

This is how I think of our RB's:
Think of a shark's teeth. There's always one that'll tear you up. After a while, it'll fall out, and another one, just as bad as the first one, replaces it.
That's our RB's except none are falling out. Think of a bunch of teeth ready to shred. Some really sharp (Blue, Magee), some strong and won't budge (Hilliard, Ware, Ford). And you've got Hill just waiting to show up into the mix and see where he fits.

We'll start the game by handing off to a stud. When he gets tired, he'll be subbed for a stud. Then we'll bring in a stud as a change of pace. After that maybe bring in a young stud to let him get some carries.

I think the depth chart will vary throughout the season. As one back might get tired or his legs start to get heavy they will bump up another back to starter. If one back gets hot and another is cold, switch it up.
This. The same happen last season, each horse had its turn hitched to the wagon. Ware was a beast early, Ford had flashes of brillance all season, Hilliard came on strong later.. The load of talent in LSU's backfield is truly impressive.

Hill looked the best in the spring game to me but that is very limited exposure, but still looked like a beastX2!
Hilliard and Hill I think or the best RB's on the team followed by Ford then Blue.
Ware I think is the worst on the team and that would normally be a slight. But man we are so loaded at RB that I think 5 of them could make it in the NFL!

Well, not if one of the backs separates himself from the others via consistent domnance and evolves into a Heisman caliber threat, which is what I am hoping for.
The only one capable of this is Hilliard.

Perhaps, but I wouldn't discount Hill just yet.

Miles will not give Hill the carries in his 1st year. Nexty year the dude could be a beast. Hilliard and Hill will be a hell of a combo next year.

It would not shock me if the number 6 tailback gets no carries in our offense next year. It is shocking that with the talent Magee has he is at 5 or 6 on that list but thats just the way it is when you play RB and come to LSU
We must be using the same spiel on running backs as The Gumps have used to recruit 19 prospects to play jack linebacker.

Since we dont have any senior RBs, I have a feeling it is going to be the same type of rotation as last year. Although, I would like Hilliard to get som more touches.

Throughout the month of September every back will get so much PT it will be hard to appreciate who is the best because once the 3rd quarter rolls around whoever is running the football will look like Barry Sanders against the worn out opponents of that month.

Having this many capable backs is a good problem to have
Posted on 7/3/12 at 4:24 pm to GreatLakesTiger24
Hilliard and Ware split the bulk, once again Michael Ford will get outside tosses about 1 or 2 times a quarter, and make me wonder what would happen if he got 15-20 carries a game.
