Ranking SEC Basketball Coaches

There are 28 head basketball coaches in the conference.
Is Mulkey a top 3 from an Xs and Os perspective?
My ranking is:
1. Mulkey
2. Cal
3. Oats
4. Barnes
Look at the list of NCAA coaches with 600 wins… Mulkey has the fewest seasons to reach 600+. Unreal. Add in the titles and Gold Medals…
Edit for the downvoted: this wasn’t all my ranking… LINK

I would put Bruce Pearl in over Nate Oats and Staley over Barnes

Cal is basically the Kirby Smart of basketball

How many have won national titles? Is it just Mulkey, Staley, Gary Blair, and Cal?

You aren't really a basketball fan are you? Just thought you'd make a cute thread did you?
This is bad and you should feel bad.

Women’s basketball is centered around like 12 programs. Respect to what Mulkey does but it’s watered down & just not the same

Saturday Down South watches less basketball than you do apparently. List is trash. Wade at 6 and Cuonzo ahead of two Final Four coaches
A reasonable list in no particular order would include Mulkey, Staley, Blair, Pearl, Wade, Oates, Barnes, and Kermit

Well, here is what I know. I didn’t include recruiting only. Mulkey has taken the same talent and competed against Staley who is 2 deep with 5*. Staley may not be all that.
I look at coaches that do more with less. Kermit is a good coach as is Mussellman. Wade is not a great Xs and Os coach.
Cal has skins regardless of what you’re saying.
Oates and Barnes and Mulkey were 3 of my 4 so APPARENTLY IM PRETTY DAMN GOOD ACCORDING TO YOU.

The myth that Calipari doesn’t coach X’s and O’s Needs to die it’s bogus. People bash him as just a recruiter and it’s an out right lie regardless of how much you may dislike him.
Nearly every year he has a young, whole new squad that struggles and by the end of the year he almost always turns them into a great team. He changes his offense and defense yearly to fit his players as well, most coaches just run the same system regardless of the guys or only recruit guys who fit their system.
His coaching chops were proven last year IMO, they sucked the whole year because Covid restricted the amount of time he could work with and teach his guys so they never got to gel like his teams usually do.
Hate the guy all you want, but he’s a hell of a coach

You can’t tell these dumbasses anything. He is the head coach at one of the elite basketball schools in all of the history of the NCAA. But but but he is a bum and can’t coach Xs and Os.
You NAILED it.
For example, they damn near won ON THE ROAD without their best ball handler and electric scorer. When Murray went out the entire team nearly crashed. If Murray doesn’t play against Kentucky, LSU loses like they did to Auburn.
