Ranking of Importance to Return of Draft Eligible Players

1. Fulton - losing him would be devastating even with Stingly coming IMO bc of the general lack of depth/experience in the group.
1a. Lawrence - See above with Fulton.
1c. Burrow - See above however I don’t see him leaving.
4. Fehoko - provides a quality starter on a thin group. He becomes extremely important if Lawrence leaves. Losing both would be most devastating IMO. I don’t see him improving much but he is coming off injury so probably might not be able to participate in combine.
5. Divinity - His loss would hurt but I feel we have guys to fill his spot. He is improving but has family commitments that might take precedence
6. Lewis - I think he was our most reliable OL last year playing basically every snap and playing at a high level. That being said, with Ingram potentially returning, several proven guys like Hines, Magee and possibly Deculus, and Thomas coming in, and think Interior OL looks pretty good.
I didn’t include White bc I just don’t see him passing up the $ even given how much he likes being here but even with him I believe we have a solid core of Phillips and Queen and some solids reserves with PT last year.
ETA Fehoko.

Agree with this list. Fulton could play his way into 1st round with a great season. Needs to come back. Secondary looks really good if he comes back. Without him we don't have great depth and nickle coverage will suffer.

I think Divinity leaves but I believe he’d make himself quite a bit of money if he returns. He really came on the second half of the season.

I’d rather joe burrow than any of those guys. JMO

What is the difference in $ for a late 1st/early 2nd vs 3rd/4th round? Seems lately that the bigger deal was the age you could potentially get their second contract.
Some of these players are older than their college designation suggests (and some are younger like it has been mentioned with Lawrence). I think that is a bigger deal especially at the positions that speed and quickness are at the forefront which means shorter career lifespans (RB, DB, WR). Guys seem to be able to play longer careers in the trenches where strength and technique are at the forefront.

I think the Fiesta Bowl was great evaluation for the staff to see what they had in Kirklin and Netherly. I thought both stepped up.

And KV Jr.. that dude balled out, will be solid next year

Agree. I thought KV played well all year. Even with Fulton and Greedy, KV was on the field at NB a good bit of the time.
That being said, we would be in a bind starting KV and a true Fr (even with that Fr being as highly rated as Peterson).

Absolutely
I think he was further down the list due to him likely coming back

None of those guys should think they’re ready for the NFL except Lawrence but he can still develop also

It is a pretty big difference in pay. The difference between the first and last pick of the first round is a little over $20 million in combined salary and signing bonus, while the last pick of the draft is looking at $2.5 million in salary and bonus ($70k or so). All of these numbers are over four years. First round picks are subject to a fifth year option that the team can exercise, while later round picks are 4 year contracts only. UDFA contracts are 2-3 years. Later round picks also have smaller guarantees, meaning that if they are cut they likely get nothing.

All of them have more to gain by returning than by leaving now IMO.

When Lawrence got hurt at the end of the ucf game all I could think about was that he was now more likely to go pro.

No difference in the money. Just the amount of money.

Lawrence and Fulton are both catalysts. Divinity is 3rd and Lewis is 4th.
Burrow isn't leaving.

Fulton's dad was on 104.9 a month or so back and he made it sound like he's definitely returning.

It seems like Divinity is definitely improving as a football player and could see a Debo type jump his senior year if he stays.
I could actually see Lewis leaving bc I think he is as good as he is probably going to get and he has a full season of game tape against high level competition.

Divinity had a very good year, and this was while he was having protection slid to his side all season. If he returns and plays opposite of Chaisson he will have an even better year.
That said, I have a feeling Divinity and Lawrence are both going to declare and Fulton will return. Losing Lawrence hurts, but Fehoko/Shelvin/Logan is a solid front.
