Man these type of threads asking for rankings of the all time greats in tiger football history by position is just very difficult and could go a number of ways honestly. You simply can't go wrong and can't be absolutely right. They're all great players. LSU is and has always been so damn loaded all over the field that you seriously can't choose the best to play their positions. Geaux Tigers.
For example, cb. Many would say Patrick Peterson, but I'm telling you right now that Derek stingley had a better freshman season then pat did at LSU and has the potential to be the best that's ever played here, then after those two, it's going to be very challenging to pick and choose which cbs were better than the others that we LSU fans have to choose from.
The only position that would be easy and simply cut and dry would be the qb position. Burrow is without a doubt the best to ever suit up in purp and gold.

Is Thomas Dunson eligible to receive votes? Classified as an inside linebacker, or a “drop linebacker”?

Perry Riley and Kevin Sheppard for some odd reason seem to always get forgotten about.

Looks like people forgot how good Kendell Beckwith was too. He’s bottom half on most people’s list. I’d say he’s top 3 or 4.
I don’t think Queen and Philips really belong on this list either. They were good, but I won’t remember them as great.

Yeah queen and Phillips are definitely bottom in this group.

DW, BJ, KM, KS, TF, KB, JP, KA, AH, DJ, PQ
These are solely on stats and impact on their team at those times. I would rank them differently just on personal preference though. I like the speed and explosiveness of Debo and Queen so I would put them higher on my personal preference list. The first 5 or so I listed were tackle machines.

What’s your reasoning for putting Beckwith dead last?
Posted on 2/5/20 at 8:38 am to GeauxTigers247
I had him ahead of Phillips and queen but gave those guys the nod because of winning a national championship

Mostly from his NFL career to be honest and then going back to see his LSU career
Posted on 2/5/20 at 12:22 pm to Eden Isle Tiger
Darry Beckwith was pretty good as well.

Al Richardson school record 21 tackles in a game needs to be on that list
