Random thought: the Brian Thomas breakout is imminent…

Nabers already has a first round grade and I think he has the best footwork in the country. After last week, teams will generally pay more attention to him which means more opportunities elsewhere. Hilton will benefit from that (he’ll take the top off a few more times before the year is done and he’s proven to be more than just a deep threat) but I think Brian Thomas will benefit the most. He’s been good this year but hasn’t had that breakout performance to wow scouts yet. Good all-around receiver and he’ll get more 50/50 ball opportunities. He’s better than Nabers at that because of his size/strength. Also great yards after the catch because he’s so strong. For those reasons, I think he’s about to have a 150-200 yard type of performance here in the next few weeks to get more of that national recognition.

Thomas dropped like 130 yards against Florida St. Granted half that came on a play in garbage time. I agree though, I think we have 2 1,000 yard WR’s this year.

Are you saying he's going to replicate Terrace Marshall's performance in 2019 when he broke out as teams focused on Jamar Chase and Justin Jefferson? Who's going to be the 3rd WR to breakout this season?

Fair enough not the best start but he’s gotten better every week. Just seems like a guy who is very talented and close to fully showing it

He’s got 20 receptions, 280 yards, and 3 tds through 3 games.

He’ll be fine.

I think Brian will have more opportunities than Terrace had in 2019, so he’ll be better. Hilton is WR3 this year. Obvious deep threat, but his overall game has impressed me as far as other routes like comebacks and ins. Great hands too.

You’re misunderstanding. Here’s my point: like I said initially, he’s been good this year but hasn’t had that breakout game-breaking performance yet where the whole national is talking about him. I think that level of performance is imminent.

He was also robbed of a huge game vs FSU. He should have had 70-80 more yards and an extra 2 TDs.

Yeah I agree. He’ll have a game where the public catches on, but the scouts already know what he is capable of.

The scouts already know his potential, but what he’s capable of is not yet proven.

Good at walking Eli Ricks out of bounds like a dog while Daniels runs behind him untouched.

it’s not considered robbery when you do it to yourself

If his draft stock rises and he leaves, gonna be interesting to see how WR room shapes up next year.

I’ve thought about that…Hilton will be the guy. After him harder to say I think Lacy’s a senior so probably Jalen and Shelton? Maybe a highly touted freshman. Seems like they should be able to recruit a high level 5 star type WR with all of the turnover. They’ll have a lot to figure out.

Marshall was Joey B's top target in 2019 until he got hurt.
