That DLine with Marquise Hill, Marcus Spears, Kyle Williams, and Chad Lavalais was just nasty. The thing I remember about Lionel Turner was he was about 255 lbs. playing linebacker.

10-12 years ago my son and a few of his teammates would do private workouts at Walker HS. Turner would be there occasionally jogging on the track around the field. Always spoke with people, especially the kids there. Just an all around nice guy, but he was a bad arse on that 03 defense

Yeah everyone talks about the UGA game, and it was epic.

But that Auburn game was incredible. When Lavalais crushed Cadillac for a huge loss on an early 4th down attempt it was every bit as loud as the Skyler touchdown.

Auburn was such a big rival at that point it honestly felt bigger than the Georgia game. Plus, it was at night, which automatically gives it that mystique that unfortunately we didn’t get to have for UGA.


The rest of the home schedule wasn’t great, and the Florida game sucked obviously.

But the Arkansas game was also so much fun. Freezing cold under the clearest blue sky you’ll ever see in Tiger Stadium, and an absolute stomping with everything on the line. That was a real joyous experience, even if it wasn’t the most intense or loudest. Just a great festive atmosphere from start to finish.
