I don’t think we need to go Tad Pad small—I think this would make us the smallest venue in the SEC. I’d like to see 10,500 to 12,000.
I was talking about the Centroplex

Rupp is currently in the process of a 300+ mill renovation project. Should be completely wrapped at the end of 2021.
KY is also one of the if not the richest college basketball program in the country. LSU isn’t in the same Zip Code as Big Blue for revenues. It’s not apples to apples.

I wasn't trying to imply that it was, just wasn't sure what other post would be more pertinent to reply to that with.
Interesting to note that they completed a 15 mill project at Rupp 5 years ago as well. I haven't read too much into the origin or intent of these projects, but knowing that Rupp is connected to the Hyatt with the food court/shopping center in between, I would have to think that not all of this money is being dumped solely into basketball resources.

Gotcha.
I’ve never been. Have seen Allen Fieldhouse and Cameron. Allen is impressive. Cameron is really cool. Would love to get in Rupp but COVID is killing the travelgame.

Lsu will build a new basketball arena within the next 10 years if I had to guess. It's not happening anytime soon though.

I thought they upgraded the practice facilities just a few years ago?

They did, but it wasn't a very substantial project. Added a practice gym so that they wouldn't have to use the dungeon anymore, new locker room and equipment room, team squad room. But there are no coaches offices or weight room there, so they have to use the admin bldg and football weight room, respectively. I know they were working with a budget like on all projects, but it seems like they missed an opportunity there to get everything under one roof and not have to readdress this so soon.
Seems like there are three camps - do nothing, renovate, or build from new. I'm not sure where I fall at in regards to all of that, but right now LSU's basketball facilities are only better than Vandy's when you look at the entirety of the conference.

If you go in with expectations built off of Cameron and Allen, you're going to leave disappointed. Crowd is a little older, not impressed by much of anything, the stands aren't built to where you are on top of the floor like some other gyms. It's big, clean, nice, and I'm sure after this project it will be a showpiece, but it doesn't have the juice that some other more historic places have.

We just lost $80 million... no new arena for a long time

I would like to see a new arena that seats 30,000+ and the envy of most NBA teams.
