Well there were people on the recruiting board promising that Williams was coming to campus. Wish I could remember who it was

We always have at least 2-3 guys sign pro (among incoming recruits). Williams will 99.9% be one of those. I think Longhi and Palladino are near locks to sign as well, just not on the same level as Williams.

I think Hale will get a look at 2nd if Ibarra stays.

If Ibarra stays (which I dont really see why he wouldn't) I think this has a good chance of being the look for next year

C - SO. Chinea or SO. Barash
1B - JR. Moore
2B - FR. Robertson or FR. Dean or JR. Hale
SS - SO. Bregman
3B - SR. Ibarra
LF - FR. Fraley or FR. DeHart
CF - SO. Laird
RF - JR. Foster
DH - SR. McMullen

Fri - JR. Nola
Sat - JR. Glenn
Sun - SO. Newman or SO. Reynolds

Although, and dont quench too hard this idea...McMullen might get the Rhymes treatment and get the LF starting job for being a senior and one of those guys will DH instead.

I'm liking what I'm seeing overall, especially the starting rotation, but don't forget about Broussard.

We're losing a slew of relievers and I definitely think with the starting pitching we'll have they'll want him as a "go to" long reliever type.

Agreed on Broussard, if we lose Rumbelow and LaMarche we will need a closer, even if LaMarche stays I'm not sure you can trust his lack of command every save situation. I'm very curious to see what the pen looks like next season. We're losing a TON.

Just glancing over that lineup, we are going to have our most left handed hitters I think we've had under Mainieri.

Fraley, DeHart and Dean are all lefties at the plate.

Assuming that lineup with Robertson winning the 2B job we would have

5 right handed hitters (Chinea/Barash, Robertson, Bregman, Ibarra, Foster)
4 left handed hitters (Moore, Fraley/DeHart, Laird, McMullen)

Nice balanced lineup

Ryan Eades-Should go in the early to mid 2nd round. Some team may jump up to grab him earlier but it would suprise me.

You can't trade up in the MLB draft

Your draft projections are very generous for some of these players. Hope you are right. Katz projecting as a left fielder? Wow! Where is Cotton on your list? I figure he would go really late because of his lack of velocity, but he won't get drafted at all?

Didn't Foster play SS in high school?

I think he was 2b with Cecchini at SS

Fraley's defensive game is similar to Stevenson's, however he's a more polished hitter coming out. DeHart is going to be an exceptional college hitter who should show power from the left side. He's one of the players in this class I'm most high on. Fraley will be a LF/CF while DeHart is more of a natural RF/1B.

The thing about Cotton is he doesn't have a big frame or top end velocity so his projectability in a sense is very limited. It's all about how will he develop in the next 5-10 years. Similar to Jason Determann he's an exceptional crafty college pitcher who may not have a long term future in the MLB. Not taking anything away from Chris here, a team may select him late in the process.

We should have plenty of arms to fill out the 3rd and 4th spot in the rotation with enough left over for a talented bullpen. The experience in our current pen is part of what makes it so good and that will be difficult to replace.

I hope Palladino makes it to campus but even if not we have the other jucos, Williams, Poche, and some other projectable guys like Whitty and Bugg. Not to mention people like Newman and Sewald who could really step up with a year under their belt.

I wonder if he'll be on the roster at this point.

He may redshirt next year due to injury, but not being on the roster I doubt is an option.
