Questions about CB

After the exciting off season of portal hauls and coaching changes, we’ve got a lot to be excited for about this roster. After looking into it, it appears obvious that the glaring hole will be the depth at CB.
Outside of Pickett and Woodland, and perhaps Jackson even though he rarely played, do we have anyone else behind them that can be relied on?
Lastly, as good as his hauls have been, did Lane whiff on CB’s, or does our defensive scheme rely more so on Safeties on the back end? Curious to see how this spot will shake up and what news we have on the backups are.

Losing Anding to injury is a bummer.
Havon Finney is expected to be an impact player as a tFr.

Former 5 star CB before he reclassified in Havon Finney showed a lot of promise in the spring. Hoping he steps up pretty big for us in times this season. Past him I don’t really know.

Wont need too many cbs. The Pass rush will be there in.0.2 secs.

I'm not going to worry too much about CBs.

We are thin at this spot. Greedy James, recent Texas flip, is said to be able to play CB or Safety. Finney will get a bit of playing time. Hard to judge true freshman ahead of time, though.

Definitely a concern. Another injury would be a disaster

He’s going to still be in high school bro

True Freshman Havon Finney is extremely talented and was a high 4 star guy

Another noteworthy stat about everyone behind the main 3, they’re all <165 lbs or freshmen that are <165 lbs. Seems like a real concern heading into the fall.

Yes in 2027!

Thanks for correcting this. I was off a year.

Was actually a 5 star and the top CB in his original class before he reclassified. But yes either way he should be very good.

The good thing about BB’s defense is that you only need 2 CB’s on the field. Pickett/Woodland might be the best CB combo in the SEC. Jackson will rotate in between those two along with either Finney or one of the transfers. I think we’ll be fine, but it is a touch short on proven depth.
