Yes but not as a quarterback. I never thought he was nothing more than an average at best passer with great running ability. And that is with the best talent in the country surrounding him. If he was to come at rb or DB I’m in but he could make those changes and stay at Bama. If he’s transferring then that means he plans to stay at QB.

Post me a source of him “threatening to leave”.

And don’t post a quote from his dad saying he needs to make a career decision. Because it’s obvious that if Tua, a sophomore, starts over him, he should transfer. Don’t act like it would be smart for him to stay and would be a betrayal to leave.

Dumbass

He's a good game manager. Not a great QB or even good but his run skills are excellent. He's basically a RB playing QB who manages the game well. So yeah, I'd take him. We're pretty desperate and Narcisse/Mcmillian will never do much here, IMO.

He'd probably be an upgrade over Brennan too as far as passing goes. Not saying Brennan lacks talent. I just think it will take him a couple years to get where we want him. Hurts would work well with LSU's defense.

That said, not happening even if he wants to come here. Saban would not release him to LSU.

Would you guys take [any given QB with starting experience in D1, in any given year] if he wanted to come here?

Yes

Absolutely.

Finn was a storm trooper before effecting to the Alliance.

Darth Vader was evil until he offed the Emperor.

Saul was an evil man before he changed over to the good side.

Everyone deserves a second chance.

Probably not. He's no better than Danny Etling throwing the ball. I don't understand why people think he's any good. Bama is just ridiculous and he didn't make a lot of mistakes.

I would rather just get recruits that will be here long term.

ETA (stolen from lsupride87 on secr):

Jalen Hurts, with Bama teammates and coaching staff

60.4%----8.2 Y/A----148 pass yards/game--61 rush yards/game-----209 total yards/game---17tds----1 int---150.2 rating

Danny Etling with LSU teammates and coaching staff

60%-----9.0 Y/A----189 pass yards/game-----10 rush yards/game----199 total yards/game----16 tds----2 int----153 rating

#1 Saban will never let that happen
#2 All LSU needs is another QB that cannot excel in the passing game

Absolutely not. Under-handed Saban probably would have sent him here just to get our playbook. They would know every move we have planned!

nice another jordan jefferson.

I don't want Hurts but this is not a good comparison, IMO. Hurts is better at all aspects than Jefferson was, and I'm not a JJ hater.

Hurts 29 games
Jefferson 45 games

Passing
Hurts 394/637 61.9% 4861 yds 40 TD 10 Int
Jefferson 397/678 58.6% 4733 yds 34 TD 20 Int

Rushing
Hurts 345 att 1809 yds 5.2 YPC 21 TD
Jefferson 395 att 1018 yds 2.8 YPC 12 TD
