do you have an "Neville Chamberlin" for an athletic director that likes nothing more than to give up a good OOC game at home to go to Dallas or Houston to play at the beginning of the season? ......
Someone said Iowa has an AD that keeps getting bent over by Ferentz's very savy agent. That said they have a pretty financially sound athletic operation in Iowa City.

It CAN be done, but people underestimate just how hard it is to get a major program to come to Baton Rouge to play us.
This can easily be fixed. Get rid of the antiquated bowl system and move to a full playoff (i.e. more that just 4 teams). Bowl games are nothing more than glorified exhibition games, and their popularity is waning each year. Teams don't want to play LSU in BR because right now, one loss could end your chances for a NC. The risk of a potential loss far outweighs the reward of a win. If you have a full playoff system you will see several BCS teams become much more willing to play one another. Why? Because one loss doesn't severely damage your NC chances, and the reward of beating a good BCS team will substantially increase your chances of making the playoffs. It why you see a team like Kentucky be willing to play Mich. St., UNC, Duke, Louisville in the college basketball regular season.

I'm a bit torn on this. Pick your poison. Do you want the regular season to mean something or not? Either way, this thread is more about what our AD is doing right or wrong. You bring up a good point, but it's not terribly relevant to us.

A lot of Season Ticket holders do not live in Louisiana and we have to travel to every home game, so I am actual a fan of the netural site games
This. Next year I get to drive 35 minutes instead of 5 or more hours to see LSU and Wisconsin. Can't wait to go to Lambeau either.

Jeesh, I wish someone would tell Arkansas and Ole Miss how unbeatable LSU is.

We've beaten Arkansas three in a row and Ole Miss 3/4 FWIW

Everybody in the SEC has blown out Arkansas the last two years, except for us, and Ole Miss is a punt return away from beating us two years in a row.
That's beside the point. The point is, why do you guys think that Wisconsin would not want to play LSU in Camp Randall Stadium? We are basically playing a home and home with them, just minus the on campus experience. The hard part is getting the teams to agree to play, the easy part is playing it at home instead of 5 hours down the road. Are you telling me that ABC/ESPN won't pick the game up because it's at a home site instead of a neutral site?
All of this ties into LSU fan's lack of enthusiasm for bowl games. I already went to a bowl game this year, I went to Dallas for the TCU game (which was scheduled for Tiger Stadium). The next two weeks, I was still tired and recovering from that first trip, so I was extremely unthusiastic for the Kent and UAB games. If Alleva keeps scheduling these neutral site games to start the year, we'll keep on seeing a lightly attended and lackluster crowd for many of the LSU home games.

quote:I hear JA say it's for recruiting purposes to get exposure in the Dallas and Houston markets, but even if that's true he can't expect Louisiana-based LSU fans to be happy with having to travel anywhere for 6 to 8 hours to see a 'home' game. Especially since it has become an almost every season occurrence. If they did it maybe every 3 or 4 years, it would be "special" but the way it's being done now, it's not special at all.

How much are LSU season tickets etc? Just curious. I am on my phone but any one of you could search pretty quickly and find out how much iowas are. Get-R-Done

My seats are chair-back sideline seats between the 30-40 yard line. If I recall correctly, I paid approxmately $1,250 last year ($300+ for actual tickets plus $950 mandatory "donation" to Tiger Athletic Foundation). Obviously though the price varies depending on where your seats are located.
EDT: the $1,250 was for one ticket

Just reread OP
Your remedial English:
OP belongs to a breed called nega-tigers. He/she/it
- do not want ticket prices to be increased
- do not want coaches salaries to increase
- do not want to be outdone by a rival schools - in terms of facilities
- do not want concession prices to go up
- do not know how to be respectful towards others; Chamberlain, Idiot etc.
This post is another avenue to bitch about the program. Has no relevance to Iowa fans. Iowa is being used as a springboard for usual diatribe.

You can find LSU ticket info the same way Iowa info can be found

If you can post here, you can search.
You are just as lazy a bastard as the OP. He wants you to post Iowa stuff. You want the rant to post LSU stuff.

I have no problem with the prices going up....
My gripe is with the logistic clusterf*** that's called getting to and from Tiger Stadium...when the head of the Louisiana State Police tells me that LSU wants total control, he also tells me who to blame

Wow, you sound like a giant vagina. So going to a game in houston is gonna prevent people from going to future home games. It takes you weeks to recover from a 3 hour drive and a day of tailgating?

YelloShoe, Not likeing the unwarranted price increases does not make you a Nega-Tiger. Telling the TAF that you are not renewing your membership because of Alleva as I did this morning may qualify though...

its funny to me that people put this on alleva. do you honestly think if we had any other ad we wouldn't take big money neutral site games?
Posted on 12/17/13 at 11:42 am to rutiger
I do not mind neutral site games. I went to the game in Dallas this year. Price increases in addition to a major windfall from the SEC Network do not seem justified.

I love Dallas and Houston games... deal with it

Dallas and Houston games are ok, but we've had a constant diet of them....and it'd be nice to see that money spent in Baton Rouge....
