Gotcha. In that case, I'd skip the pizza and sample some of the local cuisine.

1. Deano's in Lafayette
2. Pizza Village in Lafayette (2 locations) Dupe Special is awesome. Went there last week in the evening, packed inside with 20 cars in the drive through. Those people did $18,000-20,000 that day because it was also slammed for lunch then till closing.
3. Johnny's Pizza
4. Pizza Shack in Opelousas- I went there 2 years ago and wow! In fact, I will drive to Opelousas later and will eat a pizza there... you got me hungry for one.
5. Pizza Domenica in NOLA
6. Blaze franchise in Lafayette
7. Central Pizza in Lafayette
8. Fleur De Lis in Baton Rouge
9. Mid City Pizza in NOLA
10. Alesi Pizza in Lafayette
Deano's is incredible but Pizza Village makes some great pizza's as well

I’m thinking you’ve made a terrible choice of names.

Pizza won’t be the first thing that comes to mind when you bring up food around here but there are certainly places where you can find good pizza. Pizza delicious is one you will hear most about in Nola. I prefer G’s pizza spot to mid city pizza but I’m in the minority in that. Pizza Dominica is also worth the trip. Slightly more upscale than you’re typical pizza joint but it delivers

I occasionally enjoy a slice or two. Why would think pizza isn't a think in Louisiana? We're not located in Thailand you know.

What are you coming down here to do? If you are coming to watch Burrow end Clemson’s streak then we will be glad to have you as one of us.

quote:OK, hmm. If I'm reading into this correctly, you're a big Joe Burrow fan from Ohio and know him personally and want to come to New Orleans to watch him in the championship game (assuming we get there, taking nothing for granted).

If so, WELCOME!!! And, rather than ask for a good pizza place, try a new post providing more detail about why you're coming and ask for advice on places to eat (including pizza), must see attractions, etc. You'll get far more positive posts and hundreds of friendly responses.
Edit: try a muffeletta (sandwich). They were invented at Central Grocery, 923 Decatur St in the French Quarter. Theirs are good, but one of the best I've had is at Cooter Brown's, a bar & grill on Carrollton Ave at the river (half block from St. Charles Ave). It's grilled before they put the olive salad on it. Anyone else got a better muffeletta?

Also, Nona Mia on Esplanade Ave, near City Park, is very good.

You getting a lot of answers along the lines of “we like gumbo and jambalaya here”. I don’t get that attitude. Yes people like pizza here, too. A lot. Where you are will determine which local pizza places to try. In lafayette, I’d suggest Deano’s or Pizza Village. They are different types of crusts. Deano’s has won multiple contest nationwide. Pizza Village has about as good a “cracker crust” pizza as I have had.
In NOLA or Baton Rouge, I can only recommend Reginellis but I don’t eat pizza in either of those places often.
