Question for Understanding: Conferences and LSU

I am trying to understand the pros/cons and potential long-term impact of LSU (or any other major conference teams) leaving the SEC (or any other conference) by force or choice and joining another conference. For the sake of this question I am focusing on LSU due to current circumstances.
If LSU is forced out of the SEC or if LSU chose to leave the SEC on its own volition, and LSU joined another conference what is the long-term impact on LSU, SEC, and any conference LSU may join, if any?

The major conferences will be dead in 2 to 3 seasons when the super conference forms
LSU doesn’t need to be in a garbage conference with schools like Vanderbilt and Mizzou when they can be in a super conference with Ohio State, Miami, and Texas

LSU losses like 20m a year maybe more from tv contact. Also depends on what conference we would join and if we can get that conference a better deal. so might be more might less than 20m. (LSU is not going to join the Big 10)

The LSU athletic department has a lot of expenses. It needs the money.

Unlike the SEC, the Big Ten’s TV contracts would increase if LSU were to be added to their conference. They would jump to get LSU. LSU would come out ahead.

The big ten only at least in the past accept AAU members, LSU is not one.
The big ten will not touch lsu being of "charater issues" you can not agree with i dont care, these are northern costal elites. they look down on us.
If LSU was to leave for any reason the Big ten would pivot to get Texas and/or Florida from what would then be a chaos filled SEC. Every confernce seems strong until the next tv contract deal is for less money than the one they just got done with. (ie the PAC-12) and the SEC can not fill the value left behind from LSU on a 1-1 case, other than Norte Dame, that wont ever happen.

Well Sewanee college, Georgia tech and Tulane were founding members of the SEC and voluntarily left for various reasons. How did it work out for them? I don't think we should consider leaving the SEC and I hope big money LSU guys/politicians figure out a way to pull strings to get rid of this commissioner.

I agree im just saying based on the past, i could also see the networks that run the Big 10 say.... yeah but its LSU. you never know anymore because of the amount of money.

The academic angle wasn’t enough to get Stanford and Cal into the B1G when Fox basically told them you’re not doing that.

They lost it after they agreed to join, but before their first season in the B1G.

Nebraska lost its membership primarily due to what the AAU members considered inadequate research emphasis. I think they have also slipped in educational rankings like USN University rankings. LSU's research emphasis is more than adequate for membership. It's their USN and other academic ratings that is probably the limitation.
