I mean, vaccines historically have been the way to do this any time an epidemic happens.

Because when ICUs are overflowing it gives elected officials wherewithal to enact shutdowns and other restrictions. Vaaaast majority of those in ICUs today are unvaxxed who were either lazy or thought they were smarter than everyone else.

Because places requiring negative tests or vaccines seem to be loosening up on masks and potentially allowing 100k people to gather at a sporting event

You know if government officials and executive administrators took a different approach you'd probably see a lot more participation.

The message should be, "I've got the vaccine and not afraid of COVID. I'm protected. You could be protected too. Good luck."

Forcing people to choose between employment and medical treatment during the week sucks. But then making them choose between medical treatment and entertainment on the weekend is just an extension of that suckage.

Vaccines aren’t eradicating the virus.

I don’t think the vaccine is a conspiracy in and of itself. It has its purpose and I’ve suggested that people close to me get it. But I have no use for it and I shouldn’t be strong armed into taking something that I don’t need. And the conditions and the lack of common sense with these restrictions cannot be denied. They’re illogical (to put it nicely), and nobody can deny that.

Hospital beds are being taken by COVID. Imagine yearly that you have x amount of patients at a hospital now if you had the patients of a brand new virus ex. COVID that overloads the hospital system and hinders quality care for patients effectively raising the mortality rate for all patients. It burdens the healthcare system. Moreover, if you get it and your vaccinated the likelihood that you will go to hospital or die is significantly less than if you aren’t vaccinated. Also, when 100% of people do not get vaccinated for a virus the virus will mutate ex: delta variant which will be more deadly and harder to get rid of. It will continue to mutate and not just kill immunocompromised and elderly. It will start to kill the healthy. There is a reason healthcare professionals, scientists, and doctors want you to get it. Take off your tin foil hat and stop believing in conspiracy theories and for God sake stop being such a fricking snowflake and get vaccinated. This isn’t a political issue it’s a health issue.
