How you gonna say they were all in same class? Why comment if you have no clue lol

Hard to beat any class with PISTOL PETE. Though, Xavier Whipple was right up there...

Shaquille & Stanley should be in the "what could have been" category. So I think the current recruiting class will hopefully be the best. Big John Williams IMO was the most skilled big man that LSU ever signed. Shaq overcame his lack of skills by just being a beast.

The difference is players stayed more than one year back then!

beat me to it. That was the GOAT recruiting class of any sport at LSU IMO.
They weren't in the same class. Chris was the year before Shaq, Stanley, and Maurice Williamson

Rudy Mac, Hi-C Carter and Leonard Mitchell were the standard until Stanley, Shaq and Chris played together. Hopefully, next year's class will be the GOAT... Geaux Tigers. Pete and Petit made their classes great also.
You can add DeWayne "Astronaut" Scales to that team, (not the class). Hi-C would have scored 50 points a game if the 3-point woud have been in place, he couldn't miss from the corner.

I would say Stanley Roberts and Chris Jackson are up there. Shaq was in the following class. Stanley Roberts was a prop 48 guy so had to sit his freshman year. I remember watching the ncaa tourney and lsu lost to utep and thinking with Shaq they would be a great team. Too bad ga tech beat them the following year.

As classes coming in I think 2015 is higher. As how they left the final four team accomplished more as a team and in the trophy case. As all time legends the Shaq class will prolly never be beat.

Shaq was not rated high at all till after he had finished his senior year. At several of the all star games he dominated several higher ranked big men in Texas

1988 class Chris Jackson, Stanley Roberts, Vernel Singleton, Maurice Williamson
Roberts and Williamson were Prop 48 and sat out a year
1989 class Shaq, Harold Boudreaux, Shawn Griggs, Randy Devall, Geert Hammink
Kids...this is the correct answer. While that group of CJ, Shaq, Roberts, Singleton, Williamson were all on the same team in the 89-90 season, it was the only season they were all together and were not all part of the same class.
That '88 class was incredible, but 2 of those guys had to sit due to Prop 48 and they did not all come together until the following year. It's why there was so much expectation for that season because it was looked at as nearly a dream team of players.

We thought we had the world by the tail with the Livingston/Henderson class.

1983 was maybe the deepest class ever:
Nikita Wilson
Anthony Wilson
Oliver Brown
Dennis Brown
Damon Vance

This, and they brought Mo Williamson on as well.
Another good year was Ronnie Henderson and Randy Livingston. I think they were 1 and 2 in the country and Henderson was said to be Tarkanian's pick, which was #1 in the draft had he delcared.

Stanley Robert's, Shaq, Chris Jackson, and Gert Hammink, four first round picks all on the same team.

The Randy Livingston class was pretty great.

Game that sticks in my mind from this era was the Loyola Marymount game in the PMAC. Up and down the court the entire game. CJ fouls out towards the end and the Tigers still pull it out. Top five Tiger basketball game for me.

IMO this is the best class I have seen in the past 15 years....you might be able to argue that the freshman class of Glenn Davis, Tasmin Michell, and Garrett Temple was a GREAT class and took us to the final four.
But Simmons and Blankaney look to be better talents than anyone on that 06 team coming out of highschool.
I wish i could speak on the CJ, Shaq, Stanley team, but unfortunately im to young ha.
Next years tiger basketball team will be a lot of fun to watch.
