Yes and I literally almost had a heart attack on the 2 point conversation! I survived for another year. Grateful!

I’m 62. It’s not even close. I seem to relish the good times just as much but the bad times don’t linger at all like they used to. I still tailgate big at every game and I’ve grown more fond of tailgating than I was years ago. I’m fixin to retire and move to the mountains. I’ll miss tailgating more than games.

At some point you have to take a step back and realize that its just a game its not worth ruining your day/weekend/week over.
In college I would get so worked up when we lost that it would really ruin my week. Now If the game is making me to upset, I change the channel for 15 minutes to cool down and go back to watching when I am calmer. If we lose, I give myself 15 minutes to be upset and then I refocus on my actual life.
Sports are supposed to be fun. Its the only thing that I have found that can regularly give you feelings of pure joy. The flip side is that it can give you feelings of pure sadness or anger as well. I have tried to find a way to focus on the joy and distance myself when the anger creeps in.
I also pretty much stopped following recruiting. I read the board and know the names but I don't get all worked up if a guy chooses us or goes elsewhere.

In my early 60s - both sons in their 30s and we are still as crazy as ever. We'll never change. Too much fun after a win and down for at least 3 days after a loss. But, we don't talk about it much in the off-season. Start gearing up in late July. Yeah, there are more important things - but football season offers a break from the daily shite.

Semi-old?
You’ve made me feel better about myself.
And to your question: I am not AS passionate, but I’m still fairly passionate about LSU sports. I came off the couch when Mason Taylor caught the two point conversion against Bama.

I am 64. The people who have known me all of my life (and my wife who has known me for 40 years) will say that I have not matured one bit when it comes to my reactions to LSU and the Saints.

63 years old.
Nope
Although I love LSU sports there are way more important things than that.

I’m 46 and for me it definitely isn’t the same. I used to enjoy the anticipation of having to watch the news or read the newspaper and wait for the Tiger Rag season preview. Now, everything is immediate gratification. I remember my pops saying back in the day “shite! We’re on TV 5 times this year!!” Listening to Jim Hawthorne on the radio was a common thing and it was great. For you younger guys…can you imagine having people over to your house for an LSU party JUST to blast the radio for the game??? Tigervision was more of an event. We’d have to go to the Circle K (maybe 7-11) to pick up the very specific cable box for tigervision games. It was also a true, closed circuit cable telecast that was ALL LSU (from pregame features to the postgame show). Not some bullshite ESPN affiliated telecast.

This was me during the Auburn game...so I still get worked up sometimes, but not as bad as I used to be. Mainly when we're stumbling and bumbling against a team we should handle.
Been watching the Tigers since the early '70s.
With time comes perspective. We've had our ups and downs, but with our accomplishments this century, most programs are looking up at the Tigers.

Do you have the same passion for the tigers as when you were younger. Maybe mis phrased that. Do you let your emotions get to like when you were younger over a game.
I remember getting kicked out of the house in El Paso when it was 115 degrees outside during the Jamie Howard fiasco. Wife saved the tv. I really get into it when I was young. Don't know how I survived during the blue grass miracle. Didn't know at the time I had a defective heart.
I tried watching live the past few years, but blood pressure through the roof. Have to dvr games and go with the flow.
My uncle was a huge saints fan and died of a heart attack last month. Not saying it was from the play of the saints this year but he did get his temper up pretty good during a game. Just curious.
I'm 30, so not who you're looking for, but I'll chime in anyway.
The last time I got upset at LSU football was 2018 against A&M. I was so angry at the officials, so angry that they made so many calls that went the Aggies way. I had drank a decent amount and after the game tried to take a bath to calm myself down. I took half a xanax as well (well after the drinks, still fricking stupid). As I lied there in the tub I had a stern talk with myself. I had to really be honest about the situation.
I was:
27 years old
in a bathtub
drunk
on xanax
angry
at teenagers and officials
at a game I hadn't played in 10 years
for a school I didn't go to (Grew up in Louisiana, graduated Boise State this past May)
where they throw around an inflated piece of rubber.
If that's not a sad situation, I don't know what is.
So I got up, made a vow that I'd never get angry watching this game again (pro or college, I know I used to get angry as hell at the Saints when I was a kid), lost a bunch of weight, went back to school, went to therapy, and learned how to enjoy the sport without it taking over my life.
I don't care nearly as much and it's fantastic.

I don't think a man or woman could live til 80, if he staid as depressed as I once did when LSU or the Cowboys lost. I had trouble going to sleep. Charley Mac, Hallman, and Dinardo made me tough. Now I understand, it's just a distraction from real problems, arthritis, sinus congestion, pulled muscles, and loss of friends to the grim reaper.
I remember when Dale Brown coached us into the NCAA tournament for the first time. My heart was pounding so hard I thought I might stroke out.
Not anymore.

Reading scoreboard comments simultaneously to watching on TV has allowed for a buffer.

I’m 74 yrs old. Life time Tiger fan. Caught myself many times this season sitting on a stool 5’ from the TV in the 4th quarter. I was grinding with the team. Does that help answer the question ?

I've been going to games since 1984. So surely, I'm just semi-old. To answer your question, when Taylor caught the 2 point play my son and I began dancing and jumping up and down at his University of Arkansas frat house playing and singing "Neck". His buddy videoed it and somehow, my 80 year-old Mom saw it. She was troubled to say the least. Good times! :)

Comparatively speaking, funny that you mention 115 degrees in El Paso in your post. I don’t remember what the low temperature was that night in Tiger Stadium in 1947 when as ROTC students we were required to attend in that very cold and rainy night football game in our PJ.
That was so long ago I don’t remember who we played or if we won. Little did I know that the TS cold was only a prep for Korea a few years later in USMC. Thermals weren’t thought of then at LSU as really necessary clothing, and were later of little benefit to me in the extreme cold of Korea.

in my 60's The losses still bother me too. (i.e. Yeldon's TD) Championship when we didn't cross the 50. The recent aggie loss was hard to take. I still got it bad.

No. Just briefly. Players in 60’s and 70’s more dedicated to their team. They did not act like they wanted to fight after every play. What I mean is you have to notice after many tackles are made the players get up jawing at each other looking for a fight. Did not see that crap in the old days. And that kind of attitude translates to the street where in most towns a lot are getting shot every week. That’s my take and am sticking to it.

I was 39 when LSU won the NC in 03. Up until then, I was afraid that I would never see my Tigers win a NC. I'm still very passionate, but I would be maniacal had I not seen LSU win it all 3 times. There's always room for more trophies!
