Not really. All things being equal passing-wise, you’d be stupid not to go with the the dude who can break off 40+ yard runs. But all things may not be equal passing. I think they love what Myles brings passing and what Daniels brings with his feet. Nuss may be the best combination of those 2 traits. I think a lot of people are writing him off way too easily. Dude can play.

However—and this sucks—Kelly has to be cognizant of roster management. He may think Nuss gives us the best chance to win (probably doesn’t), but he almost has to go with Brennan or Daniels or the best QB room we’ve had in a while could quickly turn into red-shirt freshman Nuss and true freshman Walker and some walkons. Just reading the tea leaves, I think they like Nuss, probably a good bit more than a lot of fans think. But they desperately want Brennan or Daniels to separate themselves and take the job and will give both every opportunity to.

that's not an opinion; it's a wild arse guess. opinion is based on some level of information. you have zero information. that's a guess.

Granted, it’s not enough, but to say we have “zero information” is fricking retarded.

Brennan is nothing like any starting NFL QB outside of an aging Matt Ryan(and shite Ryan can take off at times so it might be none)

There are plenty of QBs that don't run. Cousins, Stafford, Goff, Mac Jones, Brady, Garoppolo, Ryan, Dalton, etc.

Do you think we win natty in 2019 without JB’s scrambling?

So now we’re comparing Daniels to Burrow? This same argument was made for Max Johnson last year about mobility only you guys never consider that unless you can back safeties off with your passing ability it doesn’t matter if you can scramble which is why the more Johnson was seen by SEC DCs the worse he got and his mobility didn’t matter at all.

But I’m not and the facts back me up. 2 running QBs have won national titles in the last decade + and one of those was much more passer than runner. Daniels isn’t in either of those guys universe when it comes to ability.

I’m not saying Daniels is the right guy for the job. I’m saying that you can’t beat Nick Saban if your qb is a statue

I think it's between Daniels and Brennan for the starter. I don't see nuss competing for the starting job this year.

Running QBs get killed vs Alabama, even guys like Nick Marshall who are run first guys threw for 400+ yards to beat them. They don’t do it by running against em. The only 2 QBs who’ve run for 100 yards vs Sabans bama teams have been blown out by about 4TDs per game.

If Daniels can make all the throws accurately and consistently then great he’ll likely be starting and do well. What I’m saying is it’s dumb to think that just because he can run he should start when the data says the exact opposite.

Based on everything coming out that sounds ridiculous. Daniels transferred here to sit behind a freshman? I guess this is why journalists like Scarborough aren’t coaches.

When looking at prototypical NFL style QBs, that’s the list. Doesn’t mean that’s who fits BKs system best.

But I do think MB will be QB1 when the season starts.

Daniels does give us a dual threat, but it could be wishful thinking from that staff member.

Yep. It took a little time for Daniels to click. Sometimes that happens. But Brennan has been amazing I’ll say that. He has really surprised me with his effort. He did not back down. And it’s not over till it’s over.

The stuff Daniels does best may not be installed yet and he can’t really show off his legs when we aren’t gonna see anyone tackled to the ground
Those legs will get destroyed in the SEC!

Upper echelon BIG BOY DC's and talent is too good for that "Running QB BS" to work consistently in the Southeastern Conference.

What will work is a Passing QB that can consistently and accurately put the ball into the hands of LSU WR's, TE's and RB's.

Maybe a few special plays for JD inside the 5 yard line, but even then, if I'm the QB and I bring my team 80 yards down the field and they yank me out to allow the "Running QB" to get the touchdown, I'd be pissed.

At the end of the day, I think Brennan is the “starter” but it’s going to be a 2 QB system with Daniels. It’s Kelly’s MO and all i ask if that’s the case, is he doesn’t take one or the other out after a positive momentum drive.
The issue for Brennan is that he’s taking a risk by staying. A two qb system may not be something he wants to do with his last year of eligibility. Or he may not want to risk going into the fall not having a clear understanding of who is going to get the significant snaps. We’ll see.
